“Ruben and Doris are without a doubt the kindest, most welcoming hosts we've ever had. They made sure we had everything we needed, helped us buy bus tickets, gave us tips for where to visit, and even drove across town to bring us a sweater we had left. Their house has a beautiful outdoor space with tables and a hammock and although we didn't use the pool, it was very clean and looked great. They have some very adoring cats at the house, the smallest of which loved to join us in the hammock! We had everything we needed and more here, we only wish we could have stayed longer!”
The house sits on the hillside skirting the town of Lamas, situated in the 'Selva Alta' or (high-rainforest) of the Amazonian region in northern Perú, about 25 minutes from the nearest town and airport which is Tarapoto. Given the slight elevation the house offers impressive panoramic views from the terrace and master bedroom. The pleasant climate and peaceful atmosphere make it easy to enjoy the place making it an ideal to rest and enjoy nature.
“The wonderful thing about the house, is the live show you have of the mountain, if you wake up at 5:30 am you can see the sunrise and you will be amazed, having breakfast on the terrace watching the mountain is super and in the early morning if you do an effort to get up and go up to the roof terrace you can see the stars, the constellations, the three marias, Venus, the wonder of the marvelous universe will be great. We had the opportunity to see from the terrace the whole process of a storm as it advanced from one end with the black clouds and you could see the fall of the rain in the distance and as it reached the city, it looked like a live movie. My family wanting to return soon.”
