“The experience was just what we were looking for especially why we were going with a person in a wheelchair, both bathrooms and spaces in general were very accessible and then on family trips it is difficult to find options like that. Magie the hostess answered every question that came up quickly. Magie's mother is very kind to welcome us and explaining some details of the accommodation. The couple who take care of the house very attentive and the truth allowed us to be free in the house and that made us more comfortable.”
“A truly special getaway in a truly special setting. Super-comfy rooms and suites in a more-than-300-year-old hacienda with 21st century luxuries. Lovely attentive staff, gorgeous pool area, delicious foods... I could go on and on. Fit for important milestone occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, but don't wait for those! My husband and I have now located a getaway from the hustle and bustle of Oaxaca (easily less than an hour's drive), and it's our new go-to for a few days' rejuvenation. Full spa services (we had a terrific couples massage)! Thanks so much for a delightful holiday. We loved it.”
Panoramic view suite located in the third patio, wifi and tv available.
“My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time during our stay at Ex Hacienda San Antonio, and we would strongly encourage anyone who’s looking to spend a few days outside of Oaxaca City to consider staying with Jose and the amazing family and staff. Upon arriving in Oaxaca, Jose was gracious enough to arrange a ride for us to the Hacienda. Jose’s Mom came to pick us up, which I personally think speaks to the level of hospitality the Ex Hacienda staff exerts for their guests; especially once you realize how far outside the city the hacienda is. Once we arrived at the Hacienda we were quickly greeted by Daniella, who gave us a quick tour of the amazing property before showing us to our room. This is also were we were lucky enough to meet Rudolpho and Lola, who are the two weimaraners on the property. We love dogs, so this was a great aspect of our stay. They’re beautiful dogs who are genuinely curious and love people. Back to the property, our room was gorgeous and absolutely huge. The king bed is dwarfed in the room and the combination of local carpentry and masonry adds a wonderful feel to the room. The bathroom was very large, with space for a huge shower; jacuzzi tub; and still plenty of space to mingle about. The bed was very comfortable and the room had more than we could ever really need while relaxing in the mountains. Outside of our room, there’s access to the picturesque outdoor swimming pool and lounge area. Again, this space is outfitted with local carpentry that makes up the lounge chairs and cabanas by the pool, while the stone work has all be completed by local masons. Also by the outdoor pool was the spa building with appealing masonry and large glass windows. The spa is wonderful in and of itself, with a fantastic jacuzzi pool (PS. make sure you take some time to see this at night). We were lucky enough to enjoy a massage during our stay, and would suggest that any guest take the time to relax in the spa. Unfortunately, we didn’t try the Temezcal during this stay, but we’re sure it will be a part of our next stay. Please also be sure to take a few trips around the property’s walkway; it’s great for walking or running in the morning and is a great way to see the amazing views of the mountains the property affords. Throughout our stay, we were always accommodated my our gracious hosts, Alfredo and Marcela, who made sure our stay was all we had envisioned. They went above and beyond what we could have ever imagined and made us feel at home while being nearly 3,000 miles away. The restaurant on the property is wonderful, and if you explore enough, you can see how traditional their approach to cooking is. Being that we’re a bit on the foodie side, it was refreshing to see someone cooking meals over an actual fire, that said, the food was absolutely delicious. Every meal we ordered was prepared quickly and ensured our plates were empty and our stomachs were full when we were finished. We were simply blown away with our stay and the hospitality of everyone at Ex Hacienda, that we’re already planning to return. We can’t thank everyone enough for all they did to ensure our stay was as beautiful as we had imagined. Don’t hesitate to book your stay, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you!”
