Quite and cozy small studio, perfect for two at only 3 minute walk from the beach. The studio is luminous with a swimming pool in a shared area, Air Conditioner, wifi, a small kitchen and a private bathroom with hot water. Experience Puerto Escondido in the calmness of a beautiful and big lay back palapa and a pool in our common area.
“What a sweet place! With such sweet hosts! This place is very thoughtfully put together and Raphaël was very kind to give us lots of ideas of fun things to do and places to visit. He also happens to be an amazing ceramic artist along with Berenice! Definitely make sure to visit their gallery (you can walk to it - as well as walk to many other fantastic restaurants and the BEACH). Highly recommend you stay here! :-)”

“Six months into quarantine and I'd lost my mind a bit. There was COVID-19 + everything else 2020 decided to throw our way - a global pandemic wasn't enough. I'd been looking for weeks for a place that was reachable by car from Mexico City, where my boyfriend and I and our small dog could escape and breathe some fresh air, where my mind could go blank, away from all the things I normally enjoy while traveling - markets, busy streets with vendors, crowded restaurants. Nothing was quite grabbing my attention until Casa Tiny popped up as a rec. One description I read said, "Casa Tiny, a minimalist concrete beach house in Oaxaca, Mexico, that has its own pool", coupled by a photo of a very small house in the middle of dense vegetation - in the background, a deserted beach. I needed to book immediately. I messaged Claudio and within minutes, I received the only response I'd ever wanted in 2020, "I can make it happen :)" So we made it happen. We packed our bags and hit the road. Once we got there (after a very long drive), it was everything we wanted and more - no OXXOs, no traffic, not even cell service (FYI, the beach has service! We needed it a few times to check in with friends and family... and to show-off on instagram). We spent most of our time outside - in the pool or at the beach, which is just a quick walk from the property. We shared its sandy vastness with perhaps three other people throughout the entirety of our stay. Mosquitos ate us alive during the day, but seemed to leave us alone at night once we drowned ourselves in OFF and used the net for over the bed, both which were provided by Claudio. Making breakfast and dinner was fairly simple - the electric stove worked just fine and we took advantage of the coffee grains to strain coffee each morning. It was HOT during our stay (August) and with no air conditioning, we stayed in the pool when we weren't by the ocean. The fans by the super comfy bed were a godsend after a long, sun-soaked day. If I had to point out a few things for improvement, it would perhaps be a much stronger fridge (we had to wait a day for our water bottles and beers to really get cold), some extra sunscreen, since there are no stores around unless you head 30 min south to Puerto Escondido and maybe the lack of cell service, which ended up being a blessing in disguise. Note: Don't expect to send emails, be on calls or stream videos inside the house. Plus it costs 500 MXN a person (!) at Hotel Escondido to use the internet, forcing us to truly disconnect. However, it's hard to critique Casa Tiny when such wonderful memories were made. If you're really looking for a breath of the freshest air, seriously look no further. P.S. Stay up late and look at the stars, wake up early and watch the sunrise - promise you it's worth it.”
At only 3 minute walk to the beach and restaurants, the apartment with its private entrance and A/C is bright, cozy and modern. It's located on the first floor of a 3 level house -all independent- . The outdoor shared palapa is just waiting for you to lay back in one of their hammocks, read a book, do yoga, share a beer or just take a nap. The outdoor area is located on the second floor.
“We really enjoyed the relaxed feel of La Punta. Berenice & Raphael's place is quietly situated, within a 5 minute walk to the beach and all of the restaurants + shops in the area. It's also a quick and inexpensive taxi ride to the main strip (Zicatela) and the town of Puerto Escondido. Berenice was very welcoming and thoughtful upon our arrival, recommending restaurants and sites in the area. Raphael later arranged for surfing lessons - which were awesome! The suite is cozy with thoughtful and colourful details. We definitely recommend - and hope to return some day.”
