“We had a great stay at Helena’s house. The space was incredibly clean, and had everything we needed to be more than comfortable including a fully stocked kitchen, hot shower, comfortable bed, the list goes on. The house is elegant and simple, thoughtfully decorated with many beautiful touches - a truly delightful space to be in. There were also many spaces outside that we thoroughly enjoyed – the back porch for coffee in the morning with the creek nearby, the fire ring at night under the stars, a handful of meandering paths through the well-cared for property. Helena was very helpful in giving us directions, connecting us with the caretakers (who were wonderful), and in providing helpful tips on travel to/from, restaurants, and more. San Sebastian is a charming town with interesting history, friendly people, and so much to explore.”
Cayuvati is a sanctuary for repose, surrounded by beautiful nature that inspires peace and tranquility. Nestled amongst lush trees, it is a spacious, Eco-Contemporary style cabin. Hand crafted with natural materials (wood, stone and adobe) and large windows that allow for plenty of natural light and magnificent views of the orchard, the mountains, the sky and the natural swimming pool. Perfect for a romantic getaway, an artistic/cultural retreat or simply time to be with yourself.
“I have way too many wonderful things to say about our stay here! My wife and I live in Puerto Vallarta, but we previously lived in the mountains in the US. After being in PV, we really needed an escape from the heat, and wanted somewhere that we could be in nature, do some hiking, and just generally relax. San Sebastián and Cristina & Javier’s place ended up being the perfect spot for us. Firstly, the pictures do a great job of showing you the place. It was sparkling clean, the grounds around are filled with plants and fruit trees, and the large windows make you fill like you are outdoors even when you are inside (although there are plenty of shades if you want privacy!) The location is just past the center of town as you take the road heading towards La Bufa. Given that, it’s about a 10-15 walk to the town square, which was perfect for us to be close, yet stay outside of the main center. The roads are mostly cobblestone, so if you have troubling walking, just be aware. Cristina & Javier we’re also incredibly helpful in recommending hikes. There aren’t many “formal” hiking trails, which they had mentioned to us, but there are so many places to park on the way to La Bufa and then go for a long hike (which my wife and I did every day we were there). We then mostly went back, jumped in the pool, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of this place. In summary, our stay there was wonderful. The place was beautiful and so comfortable, the location allowed for quietness, the cooler weather was amazing coming from PV, and the hiking and feeling of being surrounded by nature worked wonders for us. Cristina & Javier were also there for anything we needed, and were wonderful, super friendly hosts. The next time we head back there, this is the place we’re going to try and stay.”
A colorful authentic Mexican style studio apartment located just a 5 minute walk from San Sebastián’s historic plaza on a ranchero complete with burros, goats, chickens, ducks, and horses. The studio pictures vividly portray the authentic country style with rock walls, wooden beams, tile floor, and colorful Mexican tiled kitchen and bathroom.
“Jame’s beautiful home was the highlight of our trip to San Sebastián del Oeste. The view of the mountains from the kitchen terrace is extraordinary and we loved watching the sunsets from there. His cute and well cared for farm animals are offer such a unique experience, we enjoyed feeding them carrots and listening to their funny noises. The house is stylish, well furnished and cozy. It’s also perfectly located just a short walk into town. Carlos, the farmhand, is so friendly and gave us many tips on things to see and do. We’ll be back!”
