This Lao traditional house was built in 1937 at the village on the way to Kuang Si waterfall, It was old and falling apart, just imagine many houses like this were tearing down and replaced with a modern cement one, luckily this precious house was rescued and in April 2005 the house was moved in to town, a pieces by pieces and days by days. We lived in this house more then 10 Years and now we would like to share this experience being in Lao oldest house with you who travel to Luang Prabang.
“Somsack's house was the perfect stay for our family traveling from different parts of the world looking for a modernized traditional Lao house to experience. We had plenty of space for all ten of us, and we really enjoyed spending time in different parts of the indoor and outdoor space of the beautiful architecture and garden of the property. Somsack was a warm and accommodating host, catering to our custom needs and providing us with insightful local knowledge. The house is not in the center of town, but is in a more peaceful atmosphere, a Tuktuk driver Mr. Tok was always ready to take us on short or long trips, and the house was setup with most of the basic necessities (milk, yogurt, bread, condiments, soaps..) so we didn't need to leave the house too much. We would highly recommend Somsack's house for a unique traditional house for a large group or family.”

“We booked two nights in the Deck house. It was lovely as it could be! They arranged for a pickup with a nice tuktuk at the airport that drove us right to the House. We were very welcomed and they did there best to make us feel welcomed. On weekends they serve burgers on the deck and in the morning they serve breakfast out on the deck. The house is as lovely as the hosts and we think its a perfect location for it as well. About 15min to the night market / mekong river over a scenic bamboo bridge and close to markets around aimed at locals. We really love to stay at the Deck house!”
