Cozy Sanu House is located in ancient city of Patan, Nepal. Sanu House in Gwarko is around 5 km. from Kathmandu and just around 15 min. by taxi or 25 min. by bus from the International and Domestic airport. Patan Durbar Square and other ancient world heritage sites in Patan is just 15 min. walk from the house.
“Sarita and her niece are both warm and lovely. They made Kathmandu feel like home. I looked forward to their delicious breakfast and dinner each day. The dinner is definitely the best priced in the city. The only downside is their home is a little bit out of the city center, which during the day is no problem at all. There are lots of buses and they will help you to catch one, but as a woman traveling by herself at night it can get a little tricky. A taxi back may cost anywhere from 4 to 6 dollars depending on where you are coming from. Although the hospitality and warmness of the place make up for the distance. I would stay there again and recommend it to any travelers going to Kathmandu.”
Beautiful little independent house, nested in a courtyard just a few meters away from the Golden Temple and Durbar Square - The place is great to get culturally immersed in the amazing old Patan and enjoy full comfort: on the ground floor is the living room with super comfy sofa, low table, TV and big glass windows. On the 1st fl of your house is the bedroom with AC & balcony + bathroom- Kitchen & washing machine are in the courtyard. They are all yours !
“We truly enjoy this apartment and the excellent service every year. It’s our little home away from home and we plan to come and stay for longer periods of time. It was perfect for our family (my husband, my son and me) and convenient in every way. Again, we appreciate the fast and excellent service, the beauty and tranquility of the place in the heart of Patan and the proximity to everything that is important and interesting. Even the “trips” to Thamel are easy and fast by taxi from Patan. But Patan has so much to offer in terms of beauty, history, spirituality and authenticity and this is why we stay there again and again. The small charming fully equipped apartment (on two flors with a wonderful external kitchen, balcony and terrace) is placed in the inner courtyard. This gives it an amazing tranquility and intimacy while at the same time you have an easy accès to the heart of Patan and Durbar Square as well as the restaurants and stores within few minutes walking distance. Thank you, we will be back next year in March! Lidija Segon”
Our Apartment is just outside Bhaktapur Durbar Square; which in our opinion, is the most peaceful and beautiful of the three kingdoms. The longer you stay, the more the magic emerges. The apartment sits above our clothing shop that sells naturally dyed and handwoven garments. Clean air and beautiful morning light, a haven from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
“This place is wonderful. The location is great for a few days as you can watch the life of Bhaktapur pass by from every room. You don’t even need to leave the house for this. The steep stairs were not a problem. The house was clean, the shower was great. It’s probably worth being aware that if it gets cold you’ll need warm clothes and to rug up....which is exactly what we did..The neighbours are lovely as is the shop owner downstairs. We were very glad to stay there. We stuffed up and arrived a day early and Suni came all the way from Kathmandhu to meet us...despite me offering to stay elsewhere for a night. This was not expected but much appreciated.”
