“We stayed for 11 days at Francis's place. We had a great time jumping off the dock. We also enjoyed walking in the area, kayaking, pedalboating, paddleboarding, playing billiards and our own board games. The space is huge. Kitchen and common areas are great. We had hoped that our friends would join us but that wasn't possible due to the switch from GCQ to MECQ while we were there, but we still had a great time. It was a great escape from Manila. We will definitely be back, hopefully with friends to join us because it was a little bit crazy having the whole place to ourselves. Other reviewers commented on the domestic helpers being around too much. We didn't find that. They came in the morning and cleaned up, and then we didn't really see them much after that, which we were fine with. They left their phone number so we could text them if we needed anything, but we were fine to do our own cooking and dishwashing for lunch and dinner because we didn't want them in our space. Other people also commented on the flies. They had fly paper out which caught most of the flies, so they didn't bother us, although I had a great time killing flying bugs with my own mosquito racket. We had the windows open during the day but realized that if we closed them at dusk, then we wouldn't have a tonne of flying bugs inside. Ants were an issue in the kitchen and dining area, so make sure you don't leave anything out and clean up quickly or you will have swarms of ants. There were barely any mosquitoes on the property, which was fantastic. I would much rather deal with ants and some flies then biting, dengue carrying mosquitoes. If you like darts, then I recommend that you bring your own.......for any Air BnB! While we were there, there were also no bicycles so you might want to verify with Francis if you should bring up your own bikes. Anyways, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It was so peaceful and quiet. The water was warm even when it rained. It's a lake so the water is not clear but that doesn't bother us at all. Despite it being August, it only rained off and on, and once you are in the water, the rain doesn't really matter. Finally, Francis showed great concern about us getting back to Manila. He even lent me a dress shirt in case we were stopped at the checkpoints. During our stay, he always replied to emails and texts super quickly. We will be back soon. Thanks Francis!”

“Emily and Simonette were both amazing! We loved everything about our stay. We just wish that the famous in-lake trampoline was available. That would have made everything better than perfect. We are sure to be back. Thanks again, guys!”
Retreat to a small and secluded island with a simple but comfortable bungalow, in a tranquil lake in the mountains around 3 hours from Manila. The house has one bedroom, a kitchen, a spacious living room--and stunning views of the lake!
“The place was more beautiful in real life. This island is perfect for "cowboys". The house provided basic needs, you can't ask for more. The drive going there was very simple and straightforward. No bumpy roads, just your typical zig-zag road ascending the mountains. It is very ideal for large groups.”
