“Our stay with Alexandre and Maria was a truly unexpected and magical experience. We come from a small town in Canada so being remote was a very comfortable feeling for us. The drive to the village of Bens was through rolling hills filled with small farms of new baby sheep and cows, and around every bend another small, whitewash village with bright red clay tiles. Alexandre greeted us with a smile that we soon realized was always on his face, quickly met Maria and the magic began. You need a car to get there, but with the car we easily went to Huelva, Spain for lunch and back in time to cook or go to the restaurant in the next town 2 km away. Cooking facility is excellent. With some fresh herbs, garlic, lemons and olives from Maria (all from their garden) I managed to whip up a lovely Garlic Lemon Chicken in the oven. You need to get there to experience it.”

“If you are looking for a place of total rest, this is the place. Comfortable rooms, comfortable bed, loving reception and top quality service. Everything in the house will make you in touch with rest and peace. You will have the privilege of meeting an amazing person who is Mrs. Gina. She will do everything for you to be in your own home with the difference that you will be in a paradise, which is where the house is. Super recommended !! In summer, the beach of Tapada Grande, 5 minutes from the house, is the place of excellence to complete your stay in paradise! I'll be back for sure! ! Thank you Mario !! Thank you Mrs. Gina !!”

“Theo and Tania have built such a special way of life for themselves, it was inspiring to experience this beautiful landscape. The location offers so much to explore and appreciate if you are in to being outdoors with nature. We went exploring the lake and all the sheep trails in the mist! Our breakfast was eaten to the soundtrack of black bass in the lake and sheep bells ringing through the valley. Theo and Tania were very warm, friendly, thoughtful and interesting, and made us feel very welcome and included in their rhythm. They were both really accommodating to our needs, especially visiting with a baby in the winter, and we are very grateful for this! Theo had some fantastic suggestions for areas to visit and is very knowledgeable about the area. He cooked up some delicious meals which we all sat down to eat together. Tania was generous and helpful with accommodating our baby, offering us toys and support if and when we needed it. It was lovely to see our 10 month old romp around in the dust and mud, and love it! We came away feeling like we had so much more to see and learn, and hope to make a return in the future! Thank you both again Lorah, Daf and Ifor”
