Historic Cottage in an idyllic setting. The cottage is only metres away from the iconic Howqua River. Unique features with absolute luxury. It is small and intimate, perfect for the romantic getaway or a fisherman's weekend.
“An absolute gem in the heart of the High Country, the miner's cottage at River Downs was the perfect romantic retreat for my partner and I. The cottage was warm, cosy and set in the stunning Howqua hills, with the gentle flow of the Howqua River right on its back doorstep. The roaring indoor fire managed to keep the entire place well heated, and the spa bath was an unexpected and welcomed bonus. The miner's cottage is the perfect place to kick back, relax and unwind, in stylish yet rustic beauty, with all the amenities needed for a long weekend away.”
Two bedroom studio apartment attached to main farm house in Barwite near Mansfield, 20km to Lake Eildon. Ideal accessing snowfield, lakes, bike riding, walking etc.
“Elly and Peter were completely lovely! The apartment was perfect for us and our toddler, with lots of toys and things to keep her entertained. It was very clean as well. Elly and Peter went above and beyond to look after us and even provided us with fresh fruit from their orchard and cooked us a lovely breakfast of their fresh eggs. Our toddler loved meeting all of the animals and feeding them, it was the highlight for her! I’d definitely recommend staying here, and it’s a great base for exploring the area and the wineries.”
Middlecamp Cottage is a self contained, 1 bedroom house (king bed) offering a beautiful rural outlook in tranquil surrounds. We are a short drive - 4kms from the Mansfield township and within easy reach of the area's major attractions.
“I would love to list all of the great things about Middlecamp, but then the secret would be out and we would never be able to make a return visit! The cottage itself is a Tardis. The pictures do not do the huge and beautifully appointed rooms justice. It is a quintessential country cottage with stunning views from every window. Our hosts were very welcoming and stocked the kitchen with a fantastic range of breakfast provisions. We will most definitely be back for a longer stay at Middlecamp.”
