Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Eiichi Tanuchi, ran an inn called Aiwasho for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture. In order to continue to protect its history and traditions, his granddaughter, Kiushuko, reopened the inn under its original name in 2021. Built on the site of Ueno Castle, this inn is a traditional Japanese house with tatami mats on the floor. Please relax in one of the two Japanese-style rooms. The inn is located on a hill overlooking the city of Tanabe, so you can enjoy the morning sun, sunset, and night view. On a calm day, we recommend having tea in a wicker chair on the edge of the hinoki cypress wooden deck, which was made in the image of the moon viewing platform of the Katsura Imperial Villa. The newly installed bath and toilet are spacious and barrier-free, so you can bathe together or use them easily even if you need assistance. We installed popin.aladdin (lighting with projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms. It projects on the sliding doors You can watch TV, music, movies, etc. Enjoy BGM on YouTube before you go out in the morning. My parents, Kisaku and Shuko Tanai (Japanese), live next to the house, so please let me know if you need anything.

The bath was a hot spring and it felt good. It is difficult to adjust the temperature, and the stopper gradually loosens, but My son also enjoyed it. I was able to borrow a rice cooker, It was helpful to have salad oil and salt in the refrigerator. The bottom shelf of the refrigerator seems to be a freezer. It might be better to apply tape. I used Airbnb for the first time, and there were many things I didn't understand, so I asked a lot of questions, Thank you for your kind reply. We had a relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

It’s been great experience to stay at Yuka’s house, their house is in a quiet residential region, requires 15 mins walk to the beach or you can cycle there. Yuka is very nice to offer us his bikes and we cycled to Toretore market and a very beautiful surfing beach where his new coffee shop is located and enjoyed a stunning sunset view. Yuka is also very helpful and patient to answer all my questions, he also helped me to find out how to reserve bus ticket from Honggu Taisha to Koyasan. I definitely recommend to stay at his house if you’d like to experience Japanese classic building and a tranquil place.
