Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Skaftárhreppur

This stay was wonderful. The kitchen had everything we needed (basic spices, dishes utensils, wine glasses, corkscrew, can opener, etc), and we cooked dinner two evenings here. The home was spacious enough for a family of four, but cozy enough to be comfortable. The black out curtains worked well, but we still needed sleep masks for overnight use because three of us are quite sensitive to light when trying to fall asleep. We loved that there was no television, because who needs that on vacation. The grounds were so peaceful as it is connected to a sheep field. Our children loved the grounds and soft grass. (They needed outdoor space after three days in a hotel room.) We used the washer and the clothes line outside to dry our clothes. This is the main reason we booked our stay here, and it paid off. Check-in was easy and Arna was very responsive. Highly recommend spending some of your stay in Iceland here.

Peaceful, warm, well supplied kitchen, clean, spacious, close to interesting sites and great tourist information place. Great to have a washer and dryer too.

The property was perfectly located in Vik, it was walking distance to restaurants/ stores (weather permitting). It was very clean, had plenty of space for my party of 6 adults. The house had everything we needed and made us feel right at home. We loved our stay!

Jon's place was breathtaking! This was the perfect spot to explore the surrounding areas. We loved all the nature surrounding our family of 5. We loved watching all the lambs scurry around, the river from almost every angle, the canyon and waterfall and even the neighbor dogs came by to say hi. I would totally recommend Jon's place to anyone wanting a home base to explore Vik to the south and diamond beach areas to the north.

Beautiful accommodations and beautifully decorated. A delicious cake was waiting for us. Thank you for the use of body wash/shampoo and conditioner. Thank you for a nice quantity of towels and washcloths. The beds and linens were comfortable. Just the double bed was a little hard for 2 adults to sleep together. Highly recommend this place.

The house was perfect! Arrived to a sparkling clean and well organised house - we felt just like home! Kitchen had everything we needed, toilet was clean and huge! Beds were comfortable and we even managed to catch the aurora right at the yard! Perfect and highly recommend!

Great location in Vik within walking distance to black sand beach, restaurants and hiking. Grocery and liquor store 3 min car ride away. Anas home was perfect for our family of 5 and had all the amenities we needed to cook meals, do laundry and get a good nights rest. Would definitely recommend for a family stay!

So glad we were able to book this place when we did. Location was superb and just what we needed during our trip — right by the Víkurfjara Black Beach. The place is as it looked in the photos. As it was by the beach, we needed a broom/vaccuum to clean the floor due to the sand that got in because of our luggages. But Samuel was very responsive to our request and got that easily sorted out. Amenities provided were very mich sufficient for our stay. Thanks, Samuel, for providing us with a home during our 4 day-stay in Vík!

The place is great, very thoughtful to the last detail. The view is stunning with a great terrace to enjoy it.

Great place after a long day of traveling!

We definitely had the best room of the place with an extra side view to see the mountains. The balcony had stunning views overseeing the black sand beach. The entire place was clean and tidy, an easy check in & check out process. Only thing I’d hope was the check in barn offering the pastries and coffee for free. But overall it’s the best place to stay in Vik.

A great small place that worked for our group of 6 people for one night.

We had a great stay at the guesthouse. Smooth check in and very clean. Hosts also provided fresh waffles which was a wonderful surprise. Only minor thing was that the bathroom sink was extremely small.

Great place to stay when exploring Iceland. Couldn't ask for a more peaceful place to rest at the end of the day.
