Kingfisher Cove Hideaway

As you descend the walkway and round the corner suddenly your whole outlook will change! Perched directly above the serene blue-green waters of Skagit Bay, this custom built vacation home will usher you into a relaxing getaway from it all. Floor-to-ceiling windows immediately draw your eyes outside, where you can watch for seals, orcas, gray whales, great blue herons, and bald eagles, with the forests of Deception Pass State Park directly across the water. Whether you're dining at the cozy table, sitting in the red leather reclining chairs, or snuggled up in the luxurious king-size bed, the spectacular view will melt away your everyday stress. A full-size kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare your meals, but if you choose to dine out, there are many delightful options in nearby Anacortes and La Conner. Sunny weather graces this area often and there are a couple of Adirondack chairs for you to sit in, while you gaze at nature or relax and read. A full-size washer and dryer are also available, as well as a generously sized shower, complete with a heated towel warmer and radiant floor heating. No need to bring bottled water! We have a whole house filtration system! Incredibly close to Deception Pass State Park, there is an abundance of walking and hiking trails within minutes of Kingfisher Cove Hideaway. Walk across the historic Deception Pass Bridge and look east to see where you're staying, or west to gaze at the San Juan Islands and the Salish Sea. In addition to Deception Pass State Park, there are dozens of trailheads to choose from in the Anacortes Community Forest Lands (ACFL), with more than 50 miles of multi-use trails. The harbor-side marinas in Anacortes allow visitors to walk among the docks and look at sailboats and pleasure craft, and the Tommy Thompson Trail takes you along the marinas and across the notable 2,000-foot-long paved trestle spanning picturesque Fidalgo Bay. Hop on a ferry, right from Anacortes, to day-trip to the San Juan Islands. Nestled at the edge of the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, south Fidalgo Island gets half the amount of rain that Seattle does. And there's no need to take a ferry to get here - an easy one-and-a-half-hour drive from the greater Seattle area ushers you to this fabulous getaway vacation home. Accessibility: There is a sloped, meandering walkway with some stairs to get from the guest parking to the guest house, which is not wheelchair-accessible. If mobility is a challenge, you most likely will find our walkway down to the guest house not accessible for you. The entire guest house, including the property, is smoke-free. This is an adults-only guest house. No dog(s) or any other pets/animals can be accommodated in Kingfisher Cove Hideaway. Parking notes: The designated parking space is best situated to accommodate standard-size vehicles. Feel free to pull your vehicle all the way down our driveway and turn around at the garage. It is much easier to exit the driveway. This will make sense when you see our (atypically) curved driveway.

Canyon Creek Cabins: #2

This small cabin for two is perched on a granite ledge, overlooking a rushing river. It is comprised of two small structures connected by a deck. The first structure is a converted shipping container that has a kitchen, bathroom, living room, and outdoor patio. The second structure contains a cozy sleeping cabin, glass sunroom, and stone fireplace. The hot tub is nestled in to the woods overlooking the river, accessible by a lighted trail. The area: The cabin is a one hour drive from Seattle, and just minutes outside of Granite Falls, WA. This area is often refered to as the gateway to the Cascades, and the cabin is just a 20-minute drive to some of the best hiking and most beautiful natural features that Washington has to offer. Some of our favorite hikes include: Gothic Basin, Big Four Ice Caves, Mt. Pilchuck Fire Lookout, Lake Twenty-Two, and Heather Lake. Our cabins are in a small and private community. While we encourage guests to visit the nearby park and to explore the trails on the Cascade Loop Highway, we ask guests to please refrain from wandering the private roads of the community, as the neighbors appreciate their privacy. Frequently Asked Questions: Do you allow dogs? — Yes. We are dog friendly, but do not allow other pets. Can I check-in early or check-out late? — No. Our cabins are often booked back-to-back, and our cleaners need time to prepare the cabin for the next guest. There is not a good area to hang out in while the cleaning is being finished so it's best to arrive at check-in time. What's in the kitchen? — The kitchen is small and stocked with the basics: stovetop, microwave, pots, dishes, spices, dry goods. One thing to take note of when planning your meals is that there is not an oven at this cabin, however we do have a BBQ grill. What's the coffee situation? — We keep Stamp Act coffee, an electric grinder, and a stainless steel french press at the cabin. What's a good restaurant or bar nearby? — We recommend spending as much time at the cabin and in nature as possible. So, plan to bring food and drinks with you. Local favorites in town include Omega pizza (takout pizza and salads) and the Spar Tree (local bar).
