Very attractive and comfortable cabin in a beautiful area which feels entirely private despite being only an hour from Reykjavik. Great base for hiking or sightseeing. We had five days here and felt we only scratched the surface of what the area has to offer. Cabin is very well and thoughtfully equipped. Matthias was a great host and offered fantastic recommendations of things to do and see. No hesitation at all in recommending.

Mattias was an amazing host, he catered to my every needs and also gave me regular updates on weather conditions. He also gave me supermarket recommendations which were on the way from the airport, which was very helpful.

We had a lovely time staying here! GORGEOUS location and so peaceful. Felt right at home here, it was truly a beautiful stay.

The lake was just as described. Very relaxing, and comfortable The hot tub was great in the evenings after being out exploring for the day.

We had such a great time, the cabin exceeded expectations in every way! Lilja was very responsive and helpful for any questions we had. The most beautiful surroundings and so peaceful! We enjoyed the hot tub, dart board and pool table. We even got to see the auroras on 2 separate nights which was a real highlight! The kitchen is small with a small over, this didn’t matter for us but could be useful to know if you were not planning to go out much. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this cabin!!

The cottage is either very new or very well maintained. You can park the car right next to it. The communal kitchens are well equipped, there are even air fryers. The hot tubs are great and there is even a hair dryer.

alaxander place was very nice and beautiful surroundings to let go only from the stress of the city and relax if you have a distance or kids much for them to make a pot of trampolines and many more measures alaxander replied mjog ou fljott and was ajogy and hjalpsamur

Tumi was extremely helpful the entire experience, offering more than what was even offered on the listing. We seriously appreciate all the effort that was made to make our last day in Iceland as easy and stress free as possible. If I had to say one thing, it is that the location of this rental is a bit confusing to get to. Offering slightly better instructions would be extremely helpful, but overall was a perfect distance from the airport and offered everything needed for an affordable stay - plus a hot tub!

My family and I thorough enjoyed our stay! After a long day of travel the hot tub and peaceful surroundings were just what was needed! The location was within easy driving distance to many local attractions and to the city for any supplies needed. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful stay just outside the capital.

Perfect stay! Beautiful house with an incredible view. Worth every penny for the view alone! In addition to the hot tub and all of the great features, I also appreciated the thoughtful small touches, like sleep masks.

Gugga’s farm cabin was the perfect final stop before our flight from Iceland! 🌾 It offered a peaceful, countryside atmosphere where we could rest and reflect on our trip. The cabin was warm, clean, and charming — a true Icelandic experience surrounded by nature and farm animals 🐑🌿 Gugga was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. Her communication was smooth, and she made sure we were comfortable. The quiet setting helped us relax before traveling again, and the location was convenient for reaching the airport the next morning. Highly recommended for anyone ending their Icelandic adventure with peace and comfort! ✨🇮🇸

Birgir's cabin is very snug & warm -- festive with bright red lights -- everything in its nook -- and an amazing perch to see across the valley & short drive to the fjord. Our trip was at the end of December and most days/nights were snowy & with some rain -- very beautiful, but definitely take heed of Birgir's cautions about driving in such weather (which held true, even as we had rented a 4-wheel drive Jeep!) -- it is a steep hill up to the cabin, and we did get stuck on our 2nd to last day -- but fortunately the neighbors in the house down the way were incredibly helpful & we got the car out! We enjoyed exploring Akranes & Borganes. We also did see the northern lights on the one clear night -- beautiful to see the green shimmering curtain of light above the steppes/mountains across the valley. Birgir was both proactive and very responsive.

This place is truly a hidden gem — incredibly cozy and peaceful, surrounded by stunning nature in every direction. The views are breathtaking, and the atmosphere is calm, quiet, and deeply relaxing. The cabin is warm and beautifully designed, with a perfect balance of comfort and simplicity. It’s an ideal escape from the noise of everyday life. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Really comfortable cabin in an exceptional location with fantastic view. If you enjoy Scandinavian style comfort and solitude in a scenic lakeside setting then this is the place. Everything was as described, very easy to find with the precise satnav directions from the hosts. The sauna, hot tub and decking chairs overlooking the lake are a real plus. Ivar was a responsive host. Nearest town for shops and restaurants is approx 25 min drive. Be aware that the wooden steps leading down to the cabin from the parking place are quite steep and with no handrail.
