Shimura Lodge, Port Moresby.

The lodge is situated in a central location in Port Moresby in Boroko, very clean rooms, bathroom & spacious rooms. The owner Mere is very kind & easy to relate & communicate with, willing to help guests with their concerns. The FREE lunch buffet every Tuesday & Friday is great PLUS, of course the food is really great & healthy. I really enjoyed my stay there & wish to be back there whenever I visit PNG! God bless you Mere, your family & everyone.🤓🙏🏽
Private room in Munda

Village Home Stay

Natascha went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of by her extended family in Munda. Merle, Delia, Maxcine, and Betina were incredibly hospitality! By the end of our stay, we felt like we were saying goodbye to family. The Aqorau family is special and I cannot say enough good things about them. Natascha also helped arrange for us to get picked up by Solomon. He was so kind and helpful! If you can arrange it, I highly recommend having him drive you around Munda and you’ll definitely want to visit Barney’s WWII museum.

The secret destination for Peace

JaneRating, 5 stars6 months ago
The homestay was a truly memorable experience. communication with Joel was excellent even sending a photo of his brother and his license plate for a smooth airport pickup. They also took me to a grocery store. Despite my flight’s late arrival, they were incredibly accommodating and efficient. Upon arriving on the island, I received a warm welcome—it happened to be the opening day of the Fish Museum, adding to the unique experience. The accommodations are basic, as shown in the photos, with pit toilets and bucket showers. If you don’t like roughing it - don’t stay here. While the hut’s kitchen didn’t have propane, cooking by the fire near the water was better with ocean breeze. The villagers are super friendly and excited to speak to a foreigner. There was no hidden fees for airport pick up or boat ride, it was included in my Airbnb cost. Joels family was ready available as my tour guide or to help me. I recommend going to white sandy beach. It’s beautiful and secluded.
