Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in South-Western FInland

Historically valuable rustic milieu, where the main house built in the 19th century has been preserved intact.; a huge oven, old well-preserved furniture, etc. Good beach, sleeping spaces in a large barn that was completed in the 1920s, where you slept well. Abundant, exquisite kitchen and flower garden. Breakfast delicious and beautifully covered. Organic produce provided and freshly baked buns. If we can still visit this area, we want to stay in this lovely place.

The space was good, the sleeping areas were well organized, you didn't have to worry about anything and still had some privacy!

Great companion. Takes good care of his guests. He took us to see an improv show. After that, we got to the warmth of the sauna. Breakfast was great, like hotel breakfast.

Idyllic location in the forest, very clean and beautiful house. Grill cottage is a nice option for the evening. Judith & Timo were friendly and accomodating. Breakfasts that they prepare are masterpieces made with local ingredients. We had amazing time and I am already thinking of coming back :) High recommendation!

This place is a gem! The hotel is stunning and the atmosphere amazing. The island is unique and quiet but easy to get around, even without a car, as the roads are perfect for bicycles which we borrowed at the hotel, and there is even a free taxi service to get to the ferry (book a day in advance). The hosts Jannika & Sage are the sweetest, and so friendly and cool that they almost became our friends. The gave good advice about hiking and such at the islands, We loved the social dinners where we met the most interesting and funny people, but also the tasty food was a pleasure and we enjoyed to live amongst the brilliant design and every detail is beautifully and decorated. After two days we extended our stay with one extra night because we simply could not leave…

We had such a lovely stay with Sage and Jannika at Hotel Svala. We stayed in the suite which was a really beautiful space and so was the entire hotel, Sage is a professional set designer which you can really tell. All rooms were meticulously designed, both regarding coloring that matched the surrounding Åland landscape and with a distinct retro feel to everything from furniture to the smallest utensils in the dining room. It kind of felt like you were in a Wes Andersson movie set in the Finnish archipelago. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was also really nice. If you like the look of the website you will love the hotel. The service and food were also amazing, all done by Jannika and Sage – we stayed a full week and were treated to delicious meals both breakfast, lunch and dinner. They take care to pick out the best produce from local farmers and really made a feast of all meals. The hotel is small and dinner was always served in communal style with all guests around a shared table which was really fun as you got to talk to lots of different people passing through. Kumlinge is a lovely little island and neighboring Seglinge which is a 7 min (free) boat ride away is also really beautiful and has a really nice hiking trail that lets you take in both cliffs, the ocean and birch forest. We mostly took it easy during our stay, read books, went for walks, had a swim and enjoyed the quiet and calm. We even saw a moose swimming over to a neighboring island (!). Sage and Jannika shared a lot about the background to how they started the hotel and you felt immediately like you had been welcomed in to the family. In all, a perfect stay, both for a short stay if you’re travelling through the archipelago or for a longer period if you really want to relax and wind down for a couple of days.

Only stayed one night, but nice location and breakfast

Leena's place is really calm and extremely clean. There are strict rules to follow.

It was like home. Elisabeth is a friendly person and caring host. The little moments at the breakfast table with conversations about life and everything were left to mind. I highly recommend the listing.

Staying at Johanna's loft is an experience. The courtyard of the farmhouse with its old buildings and greenhouses is charming. The barn is fun to decorate with old stuff. The beds are really comfortable. We slept really well in sleeping bags here, even though the weather was cool. The breakfast breads were deliciously home-made.

A great place to calm down. The accommodation, the sauna, the breakfast basket, and the host couple deserve all five stars.
