Nature eco lodge holiday rentals in Sri Lanka

What an incredible location, hosts, accommodation, and food! I need to give a special mention to Vihanga who was an amazing host and we had some amazing conversations and he helped me immensely with arranging transport for future trips, and also arranging a tuk tuk to drop and pick me up for the day. His Mother prepared an amazing dinner and breakfast (dinner was very reasonably priced too). I loved every minute of my stay - thank you! ❤️

This was genuinely one of our favourite places in all of Sri Lanka. Incredibly peaceful and beautiful with a stunning view of the lake and just the sounds of nature. The room is very luxurious, from the big comfy bed to the beautiful bathroom with a hot waterfall shower, it was perfect! Madhu’s hospitality was expectional, we were so well taken care of and felt at home right away! We had dinner on the terrace by the lake both nights and it was the most delicious and varied local food we’ve had! The breakfast was also fantastic! One of the highlights was when Madhu offered for us to borrow her paddleboard of the lake where we went round the lagoon at sunset and saw lots of widlife! A truly exceptional place, would definitely recommend!!

C est un bel endroit avec un beau jardin tranquille. Des hôtes très accueillant, très serviables qui nous ont dépanné plusieurs fois pour les transports et autres services. Les repas sont très copieux et très bons. Nous recommandons ce lieu.

We really loved our stay at valampuri. The staff were very helpful for all of our needs, Akash and Javid really looked after us and always made sure everything was ok. The food was tasty and the rooms clean. There is a boat service to the kite spot and you can also access by scooter or tuktuk. The hotel is just up wind of the kite spot, so quickly accessible. Definitely recommend this place for a good friendly time in kaliptya.

Back of Beyond Pidurangala is located in the middle of a forest with a thick tree cover. Its evident the hotel has done its best to preserve the nature as much as possible. Walking distance to the pidurangala rock. Many beautiful lakes nearby, great food and friendly staff. Bikes can be rented for sight seeing. 5-stars for everything!!

We had such a great time at this place with my family. Our kids could play outside and we adults had a chance to relax. The whole host family were just lovely. Food was good, we got something for everyone (not an easy task). They helped us with everything we needed and were really flexible.

This place was so beautiful! So many well kept plants and the pool area was so nice. The gentleman working there and the lady that cooked were so kind and sweet and always smiling and wanting to help. Food was delicious. very kind people, even offered us our room to rest in after a safari after our check out time, so nice! Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again and again and again!

Die Unterkunft ist klein aber fein. Die Hütte ist funktionell ausgestattet und man hat auf wenig Raum, alles was man braucht. Das Resort, in dem sie liegt hat uns positiv überrascht. Ein Pool war nur wenige Meter entfernt und meistens waren wir die einzigen Nutzer. Die Anlage ist sehr grün und gepflegt. Das Essen im Restaurant war gut und reichlich und der Service in höherem Standart, als wir es von den sonstigen Lokalen, die wir in Sri Lanka besucht haben, gewohnt sind.

Sehr schönes Zimmer mit hoher Decke und großen Fenstern und einen schönen Ausblick auf den Fluss. Das große Bett ist sehr bequem. Leider keine A/C, aber in der Nacht mit Deckenventilator gut erträglich. Keine Kochmöglichkeiten, dafür günstige Restaurants in Fußnähe. Die Familie ist sehr nett - und bei Buchungsänderung unkompliziert.

Great room, with air conditioning and hot water. Large and comfortable bathroom. The room overlooks the garden, where the birds fly and the sounds of the jungle can be heard. The house is very clean. The host is an amazingly kind and sociable person who also loves to travel. Constantly treated me to all sorts of goodies. The house is located in a quiet location in a residential area, while within walking distance you can find parks, cafes, restaurants, shops and laundry’s. Also a 15-minute taxi ride is the bus station and the railway station, from which you can go anywhere in Sri Lanka. The center of Colombo is about 20-30 minutes by scooter.

Ishantha’s Heritage home is a gorgeous place to visit. The grounds are spectacular with lots of extra activities to sign up for. Ishantha & his team are wonderful hosts, the food is incredible, authentic Sri Lankan for breakfast & diner. We did the cooking lesson which was a lovely pass time. Great place to chill. I enjoyed simply sitting and watch birds and grey monkeys, ants and butterflies. Sleeping experience was nice: at least you may wake up early with temples, forest and rice field around. Kitchen utensils were enough to cook myself and small groceries are in walking distance. Need something fancy? - you may transit by bus to supermarket and by PickMe back (difficult to catch PickMe in touristic area). I considered about motorbike, but around Xmas and NY there were a lot of police on every major road so I stayed pedestrian. Overall - nice stay

A beautiful family room tucked away from the kaos of the Main Street. The room was beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The balcony was lovely in the mornings and the beach towels provided were a welcome touch. Everything is within walking distance including the beach, cafes and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous place. Highly recommend!

Where do I even begin with this magical place? First the actual place: it's located down a long winding track on the banks of a beautiful little lake. The immaculately maintained cottages open up to either the lake or a verdant forest. You are met every morning by a cacophony of bird chants. There's a huge natural boulder on the property from which to contemplate the universe. The four dogs - Dexter, Tani, Kalu, Moy - provide company on walks unprompted while the five-month-old kitten Sudhu provides cuddles on site! What makes this place truly memorable are the couple who run it - Amila's parents Kumari and Somadasa. I have rarely met such warm, generous, caring, attentive people. Kumari provides food on request and uses hyper-local produce to prepare delicious, quintessentially Sri Lankan food. Far better than the expensive local restaurants. You may be in middle of the jungle but local attractions and amenities are just 15 mins away! I hope to come back again and again.

For swimming at ocean you just step out the bungalow and walk to the beach

Unseren leider nur sehr kurzen Aufenthalt haben wir mehr als genossen. Die Unterkunft ist nicht weit weg von lokalen Straßen Restaurants und der Berg Sigiriya ist nur 10min mit dem Auto entfernt. Man wird mit feuchten Tüchern und Getränk empfangen. Extrem aufmerksames Personal. Man kann sich Tag und Nacht beim Personal wegen Problemen und allem anderen melden. Die Zimmer sind wunderbar. Mitten in der Natur, mit Balkon im grünen. Aber Achtung, da es sehr (zu) sauber ist, besteht ausrutsch Gefahr in der Unterkunft :D sehr schöne Anlage auch mit Poolanlage. Wir waren überrascht, dass das Frühstück inkludiert war! Es war wundervoll angerichtet mit Erklärung zu den jeweiligen (typisch Sri Lankanischen) Produkten. Wir haben uns sehr sehr Wohlgefühlt und das vor allem dank der lieben, aufmerksamen Mitarbeiter. Danke dafür nochmal.

Amazing remote location camping in the mountains with fantastic views. If you like nature and simple living you should stay here! The tent accomodation is really cosy and you may even share your bathroom with a few small frogs! The outdoor shower has a great view. Amila and team looked after us really well, Amila is very friendly and kind, a great guy to talk to. The food the chef made was amazing ( even if there was so much we couldn't eat it all!), especially as we were so far in the mountains and everything has to be brought in. Shermal organised us a guide to trek up Knuckles Peak 1 and 2 with wonderful views from the top. The guide was excellent with a huge knowledge of plants, animals and birds. It can be cold and wet so we needed warm clothes and rain gear one day, but the fire in the dining area is lovely in the evening to keep warm by. We loved our stay here although it is hard to find..luckily our driver communicated on the phone with Amila to get directions along the way.

We had a very pleasant stay at Ella Happy View. Our train into Ella got delayed so it was tricky to find at night but once we were there it was a convenient location. The hosts were kind, had a beautiful garden, and served a hearty breakfast. Highly recommended. Thank you!

We were so happy to stay here. The room is better than all others which I stayed in Sri Lanka. The owner and all staff are hospitable, friendly. They gave us delicious breakfast, drinks, fruits... It's a green space, fresh air. The place is a little far from main road and beach, the owner pick up us. But I think if you all perefer green space, comfortable, lovely place and disciver cinnamon farm, it's best choice for all you. Thank you so much!

Nous avons passé un excellent moment chez Sam. Le logement était conforme à la description. Sam a été très réactif et plein de bons conseils durant tout notre séjour. Il faut juste avoir en tête que le logement est vraiment isolé de tout et qu’il est donc nécessaire d’avoir un moyen de transport pour chaque déplacement. Je ne peux que recommander !

Ich war eine Woche in der Unterkunft und war sehr zufrieden mit allem und kann und werde es weiterempfehlen. Man hat einen wundervollen Ausblick und ist umgeben von Natur, man hört das zwitschern von Vögel und man riecht den Duft von Zimt und kann in aller Ruhe entspannen. Man hat eine großzügige Gemeinschaftsküche wo man jederzeit kochen kann inklusive Essensbereich. Da ich durch mein Online Geschäft abhängig von gutem und stabilen Interner bin war ich sehr erfreut dass das Internet dafür ausreichend war. Der Kontakt mit der Gastgeberfamilie war sehr herzlich und man fühlt sich willkommen und alles wird gemacht damit einem geholfen wird und das Essen war traumhaft. Vielen Dank für alles, ich werde wiederkommen.

Heerlijke stop over gemaakt hier. Werden warm ontvangen en er werd heerlijk gekookt. Ontbijt met uitzicht over het meer was heerlijk. Ook het zwembad was heerlijk.

Es war eine wirklich total tolle Unterkunft. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Personal ist auch unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit!Jederzeit wieder.

Гостеприимный хозяин. Был всегда на связи и готов помочь (посоветовал что посмотреть и куда съездить, а так же с организацией транспорта). Было приятно общаться не только с ним, но и с его семьей. Прекрасное расположение, красивейший сад и всего 2 отдельных двухэтажных домика по комнате на каждом этаже. Прекрасное жилье со всем необходимым в том числе и хорошим интернетом. В этом месте тихо, комфортно, понравилось наличие гамаков. Приятно лежать в гамаке и слушать птиц. Было неожиданно увидеть безобидных обезьян на пальмах. Рядом (5 минут пешком) чистый и безлюдный пляж. Вкусные завтраки. Так же можно заказать ужин. Если мы еще раз окажемся в Koggala, то мы обязательно остановимся в этом месте.
