Hawthorne is a 2-hour drive from NYC or a 2-hour Amtrak ride from Penn Station to Hudson, and then a 20 minute drive by car or taxi. Blacksmith House - Charming Historic Getaway

Built in 1790 as a blacksmith shop named “The Town Ax," Blacksmith House was rebuilt in the early 1990's and renovated by the present owners in 2017. The roughhewn beams of the original structure are exposed in every room. Approached by a grand stone staircase, set in a lilac-lined hamlet with plantings, surrounded by wildflowers, furnished with antiques and primitive Americana, Blacksmith House radiates tranquility and graciousness with its full-width front porch and classic proportions.

Susie's Climax Creations Farm is where you can experience a stay on a farm. The charming farm house is roughly 200 years old, located 2.5 hours from NYC, 25 minutes from the Hudson train station. If you want to stay somewhere safe from Covid-19 exposure this is the place! Susie's Climax Creations is on a quiet dead end street. Overlooking the Kinderhook Creek rapids on a rural paved road and AHET Rail Trail. Minutes to Hudson and Kinderhook. You may see Carolina Wrens, Cardinals, Chickadees, Woodpeckers, Goldfinches and Hummingbirds. The creek to the front attracts Bald and Golden Eagles, Osprey, Blue Herons, Red Tail Hawks, Ducks and Geese. ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ALLOWED.

A newly renovated studio apartment about 7 minutes drive north of downtown Hudson. Close to everything the town has to offer, but surrounded by beautiful woods, which makes for a nice escape from city life. The house is a short walk to a large nature preserve on the Hudson River.
