Great base from which to explore Loch Coruisk, the Cuillins or Small Isles via boat trips. Good for birdwatching, wildlife or the Skye trail. Elgol harbour is a short walk down the hill. There is a kitchenette with fridge freezer, hotplate,microwave, toaster and kettle (no oven) in the accommodation. T.V only has Net-flix and DVDs, wi-fi is good.

'Grandview' is a beautiful, traditional, yet spacious cottage with everything you need for a very memorable holiday. The views are outstanding of the Cuillins, Rhum and Canna. There are 3 comfortable double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 spacious lounge areas, allowing you to spread-out and relax independently! The stove provides a glorious heat, although the cottage also has full electric heating. There are many local walks/climbs and also the famous boat-trips into Coruisk and the Cuillin hills.

This was a beautiful place to stay! Peaceful, quiet and very well equipped. Kenny was an excellent host with clear instructions, easy check in and very responsive. Having a kitchen was great to do your own cooking and very convenient having a washer and dryer to use in the facility. I would 100% recommend to anyone planning a trip to Skye!

The photos look great but trust me, both the setting and the Bothan are even nicer in person. Tarskavaig is a beautiful, quiet little group of houses in a peaceful setting, but is still easy to get to. The Bothan has everything you could need and is finished to an excellent standard. The hosts were very responsive and kept us right and had recommendations for things happening locally while we were there, although you could happily just sit and do nothing and just watch the world go by from the couch or the chairs outside. Would definitely stay here again.

I spent my 30th birthday in the cabin at Elgol and to say it was magical is an understatement. The cabin itself is gorgeous let alone its setting. Lena’s place was absolutely beautiful! The views from the Shepard hut were breathtaking and was a short walk to the Old Inn Pub and Restaurant and Talisker distillery. It was private, quiet, and was exactly as advertised. We can’t wait to stay again the next time we are in Scotland!

What a stunning place to stay: tranquil; ever-changing scenery and remote. We could sit watching the views out of the window for ever. The house is charming, well equipped with very cosy beds and linen. Lovely walks- some challenging and some gentle- in the local area. A great base for exploring Skye. Lovely to return to Elgol after many years.
