6km NE of Rantepao. A rural self contained 3 bedroom dwelling set in a bamboo forest beside terraced rice fields. Within 80 meters of other village houses. Be looked after by people in the village and by qualified tour guides. Experience village life. Use this house as a base for trekking and exploring Tana Toraja. Has a kitchen and clean separate bathroom (toilet and shower). Recently built by an Australian Engineer/Architect for his part time personal use and as a gift to the local village.

Here you spend the night like a local in a quiet and green spot, with me (local guide) and my family. The rooms is wooden with a bed and mosqito net. Feel free to use the livingroom, kitchen and bathroom. Breakfast included. I also offer culture-tours: funeral ceremonies, hiking, traditional villages and to visit different burial sites. The place next to the ricefields is amazing! You are in the middle of the nature, flora and fauna just next to you. The rooster is still your natural morning bell - punctually to the minute for this beautiful sunrise above the mountains. Lullungs family and their friends lent always a sympathetic ear to us and were so lovely! Indonesian language skills could be helpful - body language and a translation app were our best friend. ;) But it's also no problem to contact Lullung, their son, who is not living there but always there for you and able to speak english. We ate two delicious dinner from Lullungs mother. The house is in some parts a bit under construction but not annoying, you have everything you need. We had a great time there!

I enjoyed the hospitality of Yakobus and his family, fine room, dinner in stay very good. In a nice, calm place Wide range of specific cultural activities such as funerals, very interesting, or trackings in beautiful nature. Yakobus is a good tour guide, tells a lot of background information, proactive, helps/thinks along with arranging transportation, friendly and sense of humor! For me, this place is absolutely recommended! Rudi

Nice location where the night bus can drop you, easy to access many sights (Londa an easy walk). Garden full of green; nice café; Vila can organise a good tour northwards or southwards and tell you plenty about Toraja and the rest of Indonesia.

It was nice to stay there, view was amazing, the hospitality was awesome, two things that need improvement 1. The road was bad, also it was hard to find location 2. Needed wifi connection But overall it was awesome for staycation

Okto is very friendly and helpful. He takes care of his guests. The room is clean with hot shower and good water pressure. Pasar Bolu is not far away and you can go to Rantepao in 20 minutes. It's really a good place to stay. I can highly recommend it.

Meyske was an amazing host—and truly the best guide you could hope for in Toraja. Her home is so cosy that coming back after a day of exploring felt just like returning home. We loved the opportunity to share and exchange stories with other guests, and with Meyske and David, who were both such warm, generous hosts. The food was absolutely delicious—homemade meals that made each evening extra special. We were also lucky enough to have Meyske guide us for a day, and it was an unforgettable experience. Her deep knowledge of Torajan culture, combined with her thoughtful understanding of Western perspectives, made her the perfect bridge into the local traditions and way of life. If you have the chance to stay with her, don't hesitate—you’ll feel welcomed, enriched, and very well taken care of. Thank you, Meyske and David, for the lovely welcome and a truly memorable stay!
