If it's your first time in California and you have children, a day trip to Disneyland would be memorable. It would be about a 2 hour drive from Oxnard shores, but, worth it.

Magical staple of Southern California. Worldwide destination. Immersive theme park that attracts visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
Use public transit or ride shares to avoid the traffic and parking issues.
Classic. Try to go on an off-peak day, although that's difficult in the summer. There is a bus--the Metro 460-- that will take you straight there and picks up on Flower/23rd Street. Stop in Adventureland and get some Dole Whip.
The happiest place on earth they say. It's definitely a place to visit while you're in California.
The world famous Disneyland! Advice - only do one of the two parks per day. If you want to do both, do two days. One other tip, you can do the days NON consecutively. This is ideal for kids having the stamina to make it worth the price.
Of course! Just 10-15 min straight down Katella, depending on traffic. Have a blast!
What is a trip to OC without a visit to the happiest place on earth? Enjoy the Disneyland park, or get a “hopper” pass to Disney and California Adventure. If you have to choose one, choose Disney, but if you don’t, choose both! The park offers everything from young kid attractions, shows, and thrill…
Turnbeck Cottage quests will hear the fireworks from Disneyland nearly every summer night beginning at 9:30. It's just five miles away if you want to see them in person.

“Cool place to shop. Lots of places to choose from, with just about something for everyone. The prices at most the outlet stores are very competitive so you should be able to find what you're looking for at the right price. There is also lots of places to eat and drink and even quite a few forms of entertainment. It's a great place to shop and eat and have fun.”

Disneyland Resort now offers multiple theme parks and resorts, but those simple childhood memories can still be found at “The Happiest Place on Earth.””
