One of the best ways to experience NYC is by boat, and Classic Harbor Line has a wide range of beautifully restored vessels and specialized cruises (including an architecture tour); tickets are pretty spendy, but the elegant boats, limited number of passengers and gracious, professional crews deliver a lovely experience and stunning views of the city. In good weather, a sunset sail, with cocktails, is near the top of my Top Ten things to do while visiting the city. Check their web site for seasonal events and schedules. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love taking people on a sailboat ride on the Hudson River. To me, this is a Manhattan must-do.

There are many boat tours around Manhattan on the Hudson River, including Architectural tours. Well worth it.
