Several floors of modern art juxtaposed with an original Sacramento Mansion with walls of important CA historical art. Recommend a guided-tour which are free and you may have the guide to yourself.

The Crocker Art Museum is a great accessible museum that doesn’t take all day to check out. Plus it is near Old Town Sacramento and the State Capital.
