Timberline Lodge stands tall at the 6,000 feet mark on Mount Hood, originally constructed in 1937 with immense help from the Federal Arts Project. This historic building is publicly open for tours ran by volunteers with the Zigzag Ranger Station. You may recognize the exterior from the award winning classic from Stanley Kubrick, The Shining. Don't worry - the maze from the movie was filmed in England!
