On the south-west coast of Gran Canaria lies this 800-metre stretch of golden sand and crystal-clear waters. Playa de Amadores means "Beach of Lovers", and the site is indeed perfect for loving couples. Ball games and loud music are prohibited, which helps to create a peaceful and serene setting.

Nestled between Puerto Rico and Puerto Mogán on the south-west coast of Gran Canaria lies the glorious beach of Playa de Amadores. This extensive bay, well-protected from the ocean, boasts an 800 metre stretch of golden sand and crystal-clear waters. Peaceful and relaxing, this is a favourite choice for couples looking for a romantic setting to spend a day in the sunshine – so it’s no surprise that Playa de Amadores means lovers’ beach. Playa de Amadores was given the prestigious Blue Flag award in 2004, an accolade for beaches which have achieved high standards in water quality, environmental education, safety and management. There are shower facilities on the beach and buses run to the resort frequently from most areas and are a cheap way to travel. Inexpensive car parking is also available nearby. You can get here by car or by bus number 1 to the stop " Amadores playa".

Ad Amadores sarà più facile trovare un parcheggio libero: ce ne sono diversi piuttosto capienti in quanto è la spiaggia più popolare del Sud. Anche questa spiaggia è attrezzata con lettini, docce, bagni... tutto fruibile a pagamento ed è più grande di Anfi del mar e della vicina playa Puerto Rico. Se ti viene fame o sete non hai che l'imbarazzo della scelta: numerosi ristoranti e bar circondano questa spiaggia. Anzi, ti suggerisco l'aperitivo o la cena in uno di essi poiché da qui c'è una bellissima vista sull'oceano al tramonto Fai un tuffo per rinfrescarti e parti alla volta di Puerto Rico. Le due spiagge sono collegate da un sentiero di circa 1 chilometro che sovrasta l'oceano. Il sole in questa zona è abbastanza diretto (anche in inverno) per cui ricordati di portarti un cappello e gli occhiali da sole.
