Parking is expensive in Amsterdam. In the street where I live you pay 4 euro from 9.00-24.00. In an area close (5 minutes walk) they ask a less expensive rate 2,60 euro from 9.00-21.00. Only at Sundays it is free parking in Amsterdam. There are transfer parkings places (P&R) were the cost are a lot more better. The one who is most close (15 minutes away) is Amsterdam Rai. The other one is P&R Zeeburg. I suggest you google them and find out about the costs and availability yourself since changes are there now and then.
