Great place to see birds of all kinds especially the Cranes in March and July or August. Take the short drive around the sanctuary to see ponds of birds and different areas

Want to see wildlife? The Monte Vista National Wildlife refuge can take you to another world. Boasting a driving loop with wetlands, walking trails and viewing areas - you can certainly spend an entire day watching birds, elk, deer and more. Come during spring and you can see the thousands of Sandhill cranes on their migration north.
