Conservation projects are being implementing from Kosgoda to Hambantota area because that is the place where turtles lay eggs. There are certain turtle conservation projects are implementing near Mirissa. There is a spate process for caring baby turtles which is much interesting to see. Not even that there is an opportunity to have some volunteer supports for the sea turtle hatchery. Within the turtle hatchery number of works can be attended to the foreigners because it is a long process. There are 05 verities of turtles recorded in Sri Lanka and most of turtles are nesting their habits around the southern coastal belt. There are some certain time schedule to release the turtles to the ocean

This is the closest turtle hatchery... The best in our opinion is in Ambalangoda which is bigger and run through charity purely for the purpose of conservation.
