If you want to explore some of Croatia’s more untouched beaches, this is your beach – Kava Beach is about 1km past the pretty fishing village of Slatine Bay, on the eastern end of Ciovo Island. It’s quite off the beaten track and not at all built up, and the road is a bit rough but it’s a gorgeous spot once you get there. Do make sure to take drinks and food with you as this isn’t a commercialized beach and there is only one cafe serving drinks and fast food. You can stop in Slatine Bay for coffee or lunch if you’d rather and if you are staying in Slatine, it’s worth knowing that you can also take the water taxi ferry to Trogir or into Split which does rather open up your options for lunch or dinner somewhat!
