Café
Le Procope

Tips from locals
The oldest café in Paris. Serves traditional French food (and seafood in season). La Fontaine, Voltaire and Victor hugo were regulars. During the Revolution, the Phrygian cap, soon to be the symbol of Liberty, was first displayed at the Procope; the Cordeliers, Robespierre, Danton and Marat all used the café as a meeting place. So did Benjamin Franklin.
