Nice area to walk around and have a lunch picnic. You might find a rehearsal in progress.

In between the DeYoung museum and the California Academy of Sciences. More recently added Ferris wheel. Bathrooms behind the bandshell plus museums too Benches for resting and picnicking. Statues and fountains. The bandshell offers a stage for silly kids to dance and occasionally has live or dj music.

Its the park area between the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences. It was originally put in place for the California Midwinter International Exposition of 1894. There are statues and fountains to see. One of the major areas is the Spreckels Organ area. It is called the Bandshell and was a gift from sugar magnate Claus Spreckels (the original Sugar Daddy!). There is a large parking garage underneath the Music Concourse area. Its a great place to park if one visits Golden Gate Park with a car.
