Chatham Manor is a Georgian-style mansion home completed in 1771 by farmer and statesman William Fitzhugh, after about three years of construction, on the Rappahannock River in Stafford County, Virginia, opposite Fredericksburg. Great for pictures, nature walks, and exploring the history of Fredericksburg !

Mr. Fitzhugh a good friend to George Washington built this beautiful plantation. George stayed here more than any other home in America other than his own. Once the Union Headquarters in the Civil War

18th century plantation and was a Civil War headquarters. Great views across the river of the city particularly when there are no leaves on the trees! There is a walkway over the Rapahannock River to get there. Great walk
