Why locals recommend it

A former community center built by and for Galician immigrants, this monumental and eclectic building has the most detailed facade in Havana—relief, low-relief, sculptures, balconies. The “spider” chandelier in the main hall is spectacular. It’s now home to the Cuban National Ballet and, in a small concert hall, they have jazz after the ballet. The best time to see it is in the afternoon, when the sunlight hits it almost perpendicularly. The view is especially good from the Hotel Inglaterra’s rooftop terrace.

The most lavish show in town is found in the Hotel Nacional and starts at 10pm. Its nowhere as big as the Tropicana but it has plenty of feathers and flesh, and in a spec- tacular theatre. $35.

This Cabaret is located within the Hotel Nacional and the show is on a much smaller scale than the Tropicana. This could be a reason that makes this show more intimate.
