Just across from the town of Stresa (in Italy), the archipelago is easily accessible in just few hours by ferryboat from Laveno (via Istra) every 30 min . Also boat Luino, Locarno or Ascona. It consists of three islands: Isola Bella with its grandiose mansion and terraced gardens, Isola Madre with its luxurious English park, and Isola dei Pescatori, a picturesque fishing village boasting an ancient atmosphere.

A little island with the Borromeo Palace (it worths a visit!) and a garden nicely flowering in spring. You can reach it from Stresa. After the visit, I suggest a dinner on the Isola dei Pescatori.
