Holiday rentals with beach access in Thurso

Easy to get to everywhere from here and lovely local dog walks just across the road. This place is wonderful for dogs, even a nice spot for their beds in the utility room. Bert greeted us with a wonderful platter of cheese and biscuits and lovely fresh flowers, so kind.

A perfect spot for two. It’s a quirky place that showcases privacy, peace and stunning vistas. Robert was friendly, helpful and responsive.

Fantastic place with our kids roaming the back where the beach is. Small beautiful town to explore! Host were very polite and accomadating too!!

We stayed in the Loft. It was fantastic and cozy fireplace, full kitchen and comfy beds. There is a sweet cat on site always looking for a head scratch and just down the road is a standing stone, sandy (I’ll be it cold lol) beach, and ruins just behind the church. Stunning location and amazing owners. They really care about what they do and are quick with support and enthusiasm for the area. Would happily book this place again and again.

A wonderful and warm hostess in one of the most beautiful places Scotland has to offer. The accommodation is more than fully equipped and really large. From the dining table, you can look out over the water. You can see a beautiful sandy beach, a small harbor, small islands and sometimes sailboats. A really pretty bay. At first, it felt like we were in someone else's apartment and they were coming home any minute. So it quickly felt cozy for us too. The beds were very comfortable too.

Lynn’s place was perfect for our stay. We had a trip over to the Orkneys booked and her place was very convenient to get to the ferry. The home itself was well stocked and included a few extra goodies. Everything was beautifully presented being both clean and comfortable. She had a table of brochures of local attractions / interests also. Best of all tho, there were no steps to the bedrooms! Lynn is up there with the best as a host. Highly recommended to take up her offer of hospitality.

Lovely stay, had everything we needed

Once again. Our second visit to The Noddle. Top review for this wonderful property. Lots of quirky lovely additions to the decor. The hosts fabulous artwork on the walls throughout were a delight. All we needed was at hand, and plenty of room for all 6 of us on our mahjong game tour. Clear instructions for all the carefully maintained heating units and other electrical appliances and all wall switches/sockets clearly labelled. Lovely maintained house and garden-including the 'secret garden'. A great decking with comfy chairs to sit in the sunshine and listen to nature... and count the bunnies! What more can I say.? Thank you Tony and Penny for letting us stay in this wonderful place.

The place to stay in the area. If it's free, book it. Perfect location with amazing sunsets over the water each night. Easy to get in and out of the driveway. Well stocked kitchen, excellent shower, the bed in the first room is super comfortable [only one used], and the sun room was perfect to relax in. Little garden out front for the dogs and a nice picnic table to eat outside. Overall a wonderful place.

Lounge/kitchen and bathroom downstairs, double bedroom upstairs, neat small garden and deck. Bright and airy, just like in the photos. Admirably clean throughout. Comfortable bed. Welcoming selection of books and games, also nice welcome pack of goodies. All kitchen staples were there, so no need to run to the shops for salt or Fairy liquid! The weather forecast was iffy, so Cathy provided logs and kindling for the log burner. It turned out that they were not needed: the heat pump did its job. We loved the cottage and St Margaret’s Hope, a small sleepy village near the ferry terminal. The cottage might not be suitable for more elderly guests as the stairs up to the bedroom are quite steep. The village might be too small and sleepy for others. Top marks for us though.

The Old Kirk was quite stunning - as soon as we unlocked and opened the door, we could see the charm and wonder of the whole place. It was superbly furnished and quite delightful, with so many interesting things dotted around... ...a real home from home and on quite a grand scale. Hoy is a charmingly remote and sometimes desolate place, but the Old Kirk was always a delight to come back to - so warm and cosy. We were particularly lucky that there was a folk music concert (Saltfishforty) on the Friday we were there, right next door in the Gable End Theatre - and we had two meals at Emily's, just up the road. Outstanding cottage in a stunning location near the coastal path. Highly recommend circular walk coastal to the beach and back by road. Hosts were friendly and could not have been more helpful. Lunch at the Bettyhill cafe, the store bistro and bar was excellent 👍 Superb base to explore the North Coast.

We had a lovely stay at Linda’s cottage. The welcome package was so thoughtful, and we truly enjoyed our time there. The view from the cottage is stunning, and the walk to the beach idyllic. Would wholly recommend for a stay where you are looking to disconnect! Fires at night were cozy, and reading outside during the day. Thanks again for everything!

There aren’t enough words in English or Gaelic to describe how much myself and my friend/support worker LOVED .. staying @Brough Farm @ South Ronaldsay … i Love rural isolation , waterways, wild walks , seabirds and cows, stone walls and buildings ✅✅✅✅✅✅, not necessarily in that order … the capacity to self cater , with resources easily sourced from Stromness and Kirkwall , including fresh sourced fish , lamb , beef etc … have a bath after a big days walking and sleep in comfy beds , obviously adds to the bliss .. and then the cherry on the cake of our 10 night stay … was of course our timing was perfect for the Orkney Folk festival … which was sublime … Two Australians … left very sad .. from ‘our’ Orkney Island home … Mel and Graham were the bestest hosts .. and I’m deeply grateful for all of Grahams patience with sharing his farming knowledge about the darling cows and calf’s .
