A 100-year-old rebuilt log sauna cabin in the tranquility of the countryside. A good night's sleep is guaranteed by a futon mattress and the opportunity to enjoy the sauna in the warmth of the wood stove while admiring the lake from the landscape window, in the summer you swim in the clean-watered lake, in the winter you jump into a refreshing ice hole. You wash with water heated with a traditional bucket. The needs are done in the outdoor toilet. There is no rush here, but the rest of the world is forgotten. Still, only a half-hour drive from the city's services.

If you're looking for a little break from the hustle and bustle of the city to the peace of nature, this is just for you. Rent an inexpensive, modest, electrified, basic summer cottage (approx. 65 square meters) from Kangaslampi, Varkaus (the cottage is located on the south shore). Everything in the cottage is not exactly on top and in the best condition, but a basic clean cottage with everything you need. The cottage has a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, stove, gas grill. Basic dishes, television, radio, smoke detectors.

Old farmhouse and outdoor sauna

Here's your chance to get to an old country house cabin to spend the summer and heat up a separate wood-burning sauna. The house is surrounded by fields and forests. You have access to a kitchen with dishes for four, an electric refrigerator and a gas stove, bed linen (your own linen or rented for 10€/person). Electricity comes to the cottage with a solar panel. If you want, you can feed the cows in the traditional pasture. 7 km to the center of Rantasalmi, where you will find the nearest grocery stores. You can drive your own car to the cottage yard.

Bed linen and towels are included in the price. In winter, you can sled from the yard directly to Heinävesi's sledding trails. Good opportunities for outdoor activities along side roads or in nearby forests. The yard can even accommodate a truck. Rental of the sauna is possible for stays of more than 2 nights.

PikkuTaika in Old Varkaus is a unique and peaceful place where it is easy to relax. There is room for one - two and even three people. The apartment is an approx. 25 sqm studio apartment on the first floor: living/bedroom with a kitchenette as well as a private toilet and shower. Our building was completed in approx. 1916 as apartments for the workers of Ahlström's factories. A large and cozy courtyard area crowns the stay.
