Although you may find it hard to leave the stylish and comfortable interior when sat in front of the stove reading a book or watching your favourite programs projected onto our retractable 180cm screen. There is a lovely sea view from the cosy mezzanine bedroom that gently persuades you to slow down and enjoy the time away

Sandpit Cottage

Relax and take it easy at this rejuvenating country getaway. Sandpit Cottage is located in the Blackwater Valley, surrounded by green fields and rolling hills, with the Knockmealdown, Comeragh and Galtee mountain ranges clearly visible in the distance. It is situated in an agricultural heartland, nestled between the towns of Youghal, Tallow, Lismore & Cappoquin. Outdoor pursuits include the beachs, walking, cycling, fishing and golfing, with fine dining available in nearby Ardmore and Dungarvan.

Urban Tranquility Tree

Access to the tree house can be conducted by phone so you don't meet anyone. All contact surfaces are cleaned using dettol wipes and linen is washed at 60 deg. This is a real tree house, fully insulated, 6m off the ground. It faces south with views of the city. It is situated in our garden but screened by trees giving privacy. It consists of a bedroom with a deck at the top level and a bathroom on the level below. Cork city centre is a 5 min. walk. Access to the city is via a STEEP HILL.

There is a large parking area with a covered outdoor dining area with BBQ facilities directly accessible from the main kitchen. And also a covered area to relax in the hot tub. We have been voted as one of Ireland’s top 50 places to stay by the Irish Independent #Fab50 ( number 26 :)) We spent two years renovating this 200 year old building. In May 2020, it featured on RTE Home of the year and became a finalist in the top 7 homes in Ireland. Irish lights built all 76 lighthouses & keepers houses in Ireland, and this is the only lighthouse keepers house in a town in Ireland!
