A truly unique experience. Brand new, fully fledged studio apartment with ensuite bathroom, aboard a former freight ship turned into a houseboat. Breakfast, king-size bed (180x200), 40 inch TV with Chromecast, water cooker, hair dryer, .., everything is included. The KNSM Island is one of the hidden gems of Amsterdam, quiet and peaceful, but close to the city center. It is possible to sit outside on a private terrace and jump in the water for a swim. The sunsets are pretty spectacular as well.

Aan boord van ons zelf gebouwde woonschip hebben we in het ‘vooronder’ een gastenkamer gemaakt. Er is uitzicht op breed water, een overdekt eigen zitje buiten en als je wil, neem je zo een duik vanuit het appartement. De boot ligt in het Oostelijk Havengebied van Amsterdam, de stedenbouwkundig veel geroemde wijk vlakbij het centrum. Voel je welkom op deze mooie plek en ontdek onze mooie stad per fiets (bij de prijs inbegrepen) of wandel door onze mooie buurt. Alle voorzieningen zijn vlakbij.

This beautiful studio with garden view in a family home is a peaceful place just 15 minutes away from the busy city center. The entrance to the house is communal, we live on the top floors, but the studio has its own entrance from the hallway and has private access to the garden with view on and entrance to a canal. The studio has a kitchen with basic cooking equipment (microwave, hot plates, pans, coffeemaker etc), shower, toilet and seating area to make your stay as convenient as possible.

Carola's houseboat was a magical place to stay as a solo female traveler and first-time visitor to Amsterdam. The location was secure, and Carola lives next door, which made me feel extra safe. It still felt very private though! I liked that it was out of the craziness of downtown, but still very easy to reach by tram, bike, or walking (20ish minutes). The bedroom was cozy with lots of storage for my clothes and toiletries and stayed pretty cool. You never know what kind of bed you're going to get at an Airbnb, but this one was perfect. I slept well every night and only got woken up by a heron on the roof once! :) Carola herself is extremely kind and welcoming and made my experience special with small touches and our conversations. I can't wait to come back and book Carola's place again. It might be a little small for tall people, but it was perfect for me!

What a welcomed and refreshing stay at Suzanne's place after the busyness of the central Amsterdam area!!! This is just far enough away yet easy enough to walk or take local transport to get to all the main sites of the city without all the noise and tourists! Suzanne's place is peaceful and very bright with the most beautiful addition of having a small balcony right off the bedroom. My stay in Amsterdam was sunny all the way so I got to take advantage of this nice little oasis daily. Susanne is an excellent communicator and although we didn't cross paths very often during my stay, she was extremely friendly and helpful in helping me navigate the metro and offered many suggestions of places to see and things to do. The proximity of her place to a very vibrant canal area was indeed a bonus during the sunny warm days to stroll along. Although many people flock to that area to sunbathe along the canal, the vibe is great! Suzanne was a most gracious host and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

Paulien’s place was so welcoming - from the packet of Stroopwafels (which was greatly appreciated after a long day of traveling) to the bottle of wine gifted on arrival. Her home was quaint and ideal for a solo traveler like me staying a couple of nights. Her place is an easy 4 minute walk to the metro station and a 7 minute trip away to and from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cosy and easy stay just outside of the main city.

First of all, the accommodation is romantic, like a cocoon by the water in a very quiet neighborhood. The neighborhood is slightly out of the way, but easily accessible by tram, bus or bike, and finally we enjoyed discovering this neighborhood of Amsterdam which changes from the bustle of the city center. Finally, Roy and Xander are good at giving advice on activities in the area, and were especially understanding despite our late arrival and were kind enough to keep our luggage on the last day of our stay. A very nice place that I highly recommend, I would go back without hesitation.

We had a great stay! The apartment was very comfortable, clean, and well equipped with everything we needed. The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful—he even drove us to the train station in the end when he saw we were traveling with a child and it was raining. We really appreciated the hospitality and would highly recommend this place to others!
