The glass bathroom and sleek concrete walls give it a modern edge (note: some winter condensation—just run the bathroom fan). While there’s no closet, the space fits four large suitcases and includes a hanging bar and ten wall hooks to keep things tidy.

Walking down the alley, you will find a quiet, car-free atmosphere and a traditional wooden townhouse. Birds chirping and children laughing echo through the house, blending in with life and making this your second home. This small house has been the setting for downtown living since immediately after the earthquake 100 years ago.

Our home is a 15 minute train ride from Shinjuku. The town of Nogata is lively and convenient, and we are a few blocks away in a quiet residential neighborhood. You will stay on the first floor, with use of the basement of our three-story house. You will have your own entrance, complete privacy and almost everything you will need to feel at home upon your arrival. Our home is best for families, remote workers or people who like to relax after a long day.
