Holiday rentals with lake access in Avery County

We had a wonderful stay at Shelly's place! Check in was easy and Shelly gave us all the info we would need for the stay and she was quick to respond when we had a question. For where it's located, it is incredibly private. The back porch is a great hangout spot! The pictures don't do this place justice. It has everything you need and you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. There was only 2 of us so we only used the upstairs area because it has everything you need. The heated bathroom floor and toilet seat was a huge plus with it being so cold outside. The baseboard heaters did a great job keeping the home warm and there's gas fireplaces if you need them. There's a ton more room downstairs if you bring more guest. The covered carport was another big plus with all the freezing rain we had. Don't hesitate to book with Shelly! We hope to book with her again in the future!

Great place, great hosts. Even when a bunch of the other roads were snowed over the road his place was on was still accessible. Family had a great time.

we were here for work so we did not spend alot of time in the neighborhood. Friendly neighbors though. Clean, comfortable home. This is a golf community. Lots of golf carts.

Seth's place has so much character. We enjoyed all the decor and the creative touches. There was four of us and even though the place is not big, there was enough room to spread out and get some privacy. The location is good and the neighborhood felt safe and comfortable. The fenced in yard was a nice feature we weren't expecting. One thing to note, the master bedroom doesn't have an air conditioner so you have to sleep with the door open when its hot. I'd recommend adding one. Thanks Seth!

Beautiful home in a lakefront community. We loved the separate living areas and the games for our older kids. Hot tub was a hit as well. We could have used the community pool but did not bring swimsuits. Next time!

We love staying at Seven Devils every time we visit Boone and this Cabin was great made us feel right at home. A minute away from a cute little pond to fish and the grill was also a fave. All beds were comfy&couches as soon as you sit you’re just ready to nap. Would definitely recommend staying here !

Steve and Karyn were great hosts! The cabin was spacious, clean, and beds were comfortable. The area is beautiful with plenty to do around town. We really enjoyed our time!

Blin's place was spotless, comfortable and the view was stunning - Fall leaves were in full color while we were there. The bathrooms were spacious and clean - the water was hot with good pressure. The king bed in the master was supportive and comfortable. I heard no complaints about the bunk room beds the kids used. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, bowls and cooking utensils. All appliances worked well. It was muddy while we were there so we rolled up the light colored rugs so we didn't accidentally stain them. We had our dog with us and there was plenty of area for him to run and the streets were quiet for a walk along the road. There are steps all the way to the water which will be amazing for lake access in the summer. As it was cold while we were there and the lake was still recovering from Hurrican Helene, we did not get in the water. All in all it was a great place to stay.

Karen was helpful in sending recommendations and communication regarding the impact of Helene on the area. Always answered questions and put us at ease. The suite was beautiful and the amenities were nice and the views were great. Instructions were helpful. I would highly recommend this suite

A great location with almost immediate access to skiing and hiking trails! We didn’t use the amenities while there but did see many families enjoying them. A 15 minute ride to Boone and all that area offers was a plus. This was a quiet, corner location with a soothing view of a pond on the grounds out all of the windows. A good sized space to wind down after a full day of adventures!

The home was clean and really well organized. The layout of the beds and the rooms worked great for the number of people that were listed. Overall Chris was a great host and made our stay for skiing very cozy. We even had snow come in on the day we were checking out and the roads in the facility and the town roads were kept up really well. I’m not guaranteeing that you won’t get stuck in a 2wd vehicle, but the roads were kept up and I felt confident.

Great place for a visit to Sugar Mountain! I took my son and we had a blast. This place is really close to the mountain and everything g in Banner Elk! The place was very clean and had everything g we needed! I highly recommend!

Wonderful home to stay in! it is way bigger than we expected and was perfect after a long day of travel to relax in. Both bedrooms are very comfortable. Cheryl was wonderful and very accommodating for us!

Maria’s mountain house was lovely and suited us perfectly for a mountain getaway weekend. She was very responsive and provided clear communication leading up to check in and we were even able to check in a bit early. The space was very homey and extremely peaceful. There is access to a lot of hiking and outdoor spots nearby. The community also has access to tennis and pickleball courts for a small fee. There is a cute coffee truck a short drive away and nice streets for walking the dog!

We had such a great stay! We came up to visit Grayson Highlands and enjoyed the private solace of this home. We really appreciated how clean and well maintained the home was, and how many small creature comforts were considered, including a well stocked kitchen, a fireplace (bring firewood!), and a home set up well to make the most of the beautiful surroundings. The place is very remote, so be sure to stock up on food, coffee, firewood, etc. before you arrive! Aaron was a great host, and went out of his way to fix an issue before our arrival. Oh, and the view from the very top of the driveway is worth the hike, especially when the AM fog is still settled in the valley. :-)

We loved our time at the lake! We saw a variety of wildlife in the yard - deer, turkey, fox, and groundhogs. On top of the geese, variety of fish, and turtles in the lake. I appreciated the easy access to Marion (just 20 minutes away) while feeling a world away. The home is tucked into a quiet cove. It was also an easy drive to Linville Gorge. The house had plenty of space for a family of 4 with two teenagers who liked having their own rooms. We brought our dog, and the space is very dog friendly. We’re already talking about coming back.

Absolutely stunning home and majestic views of the mountains! Nancy was such a sweet host, very helpful and accommodating. She was an absolute pleasure to meet.

Beautiful house in the woods! The sun room is amazing, especially when it rained and at night (put all the windows up), every bed was very comfortable, well stocked and needed nothing, my kids want to stay here next time, all the amenities at the community area are perfect! Jeremy is very responsive and helpful! Just a perfect, peaceful, fun getaway! Highly recommend!

It's a really charming, comfortable, clean, and quiet place. It has the best kitchen equipment of any place I've stayed: a large set of dish- and glassware, pots and pans, plush towels, comfortable bed. The host communicated well and quickly. I would definitely return.
