We had a fantastic stay at Toni's place while visiting family in Carleton Place. The Place is sparkling clean and meticulously decorated with all the comforts of home. The kitchen is well stocked cookware and more amenities than you would expect. From booking to check-out, our host Toni was very responsive and helpful. We would recommend this place anyone that’s looking for an elevated home away from home experience! It was also great to have laundry on the premises and to be able to park in the garage, especially in the winter. We look forward to coming back... Thank you Toni for the hospitality!

A great little peaceful getaway for the long weekend! If you are looking for a secluded time away only an hour from downtown Ottawa, this is the place. Arlene’s secret cabin was cozy and relaxing. A great host with amazing local recommendations, delicious blueberry jams, and a perfectly rustic cottage :) Thank you again, we’ll definitely be back!!

My family had the pleasure of staying here for the first week in June 2025. We had a fabulous week enjoying this fabulous cottage and its surroundings. The inside offered us all the comfort and things we needed, including an awesome hot tub "tub" complete with rolled towels, clothes pegs and plastic glasses! Everything was exceptionally clean and there were lots of great books and games to keep us entertained as we lazed around the beautiful property. The kayaks and paddle boards were so much fun as we explored both directions on the river. Honestly the property was SO nice we hardly wanted to leave it but we did manage to get out a few days to visit Ottawa and the cute towns of Perth & Almonte. Two fabulous restaurants we visited and recommend is Joe's Italian Kitchen (In Almonte) and Michael's Table in Perth. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog Russ who had the BEST time all week enjoying the water, boats and watching the wild life from his little fur rug in sunny bay window.

The town house is brand new and in a lovely development very close to parks. We walked our dog each morning along the river and found that people in the area were extremely nice. We were visiting family in Perth and in Ottawa and this location was between both places and was easy to get to right off the highway. The town house was very well equipped and the host was incredibly attentive and helpful.

High Street Haven

Great place, clean and as described/shown. Only minor quibble I would note is that cooking some fries in the air fryer (only to golden, far from burnt) did set off the smoke detector as there is no exhaust fan in the kitchenette area and the smoke detector is quite close and apparently sensitive. Took a little while to clear out the air and have beeping cease, not sure how guests can be warned or guided on this but it was the only negative incident in the stay. Host was communicative and responsive, very helpful. There was firewood/kindling/matches to use in the outdoor fireplace, and they set up the electric grill which worked decently though fair warning that it is a challenge to clean afterwards! Rented it for an event in Ottawa and driving back and forth was great but didn't have a chance to explore the local area though it seemed lovely and very peaceful with a quaint downtown street. All in all a great place to stay!
