Family-friendly holiday rentals in Birch Bay

I was traveling with 3 kids (pre teen and teens). We all loved our stay! There was so much to do and absolutely everything we needed for anything we could think of doing. We enjoyed ping pong, biking, s’more’s, kayaking, games, cooking meals, watching wildlife (seals, a huge sea lion, weasel, bald eagles), and hanging out with a friendly black cat that visited. I cooked a couple meals and had everything I needed for cooking and storage. The view was amazing and north-facing which made me upset that I missed the strong auroras by 1 day :( I wish we could have stayed longer!

I'm a woman traveling solo with her service dog, so I'm the kind of traveler who often has to stress and worry about finding accessible accommodations. I'm so lucky I found this spot, it's gorgeous, safe, and 100% walkable area. Her place was so amazing, I booked it again for another stay before I head out of Canada to my next spot in Spain. I'm simply blown away by this host's kindness and friendliness! I even asked them today if they were an angel in disguise. ;-)

Patricia's place was so beautiful and peaceful! it was a prefect getaway without having to get too far away! The home was very thoughtfully appointed and had everything we needed, plus. I loved the ease of check in and out. The little pizza and pasta place down the road was great and it was nice having the little grocery store close by. We walked and hiked many trails all very close by and in the neighborhood. We highly recommend this home. It was fabulous!!

Carol’s place was AMAZING! The kitchen had everything needed to make meals for dining in, which we did a lot of because THAT VIEW!! We didn’t want to leave, just wanted to sit and watch for marine life. We saw seals, dolphins, eagles, and a family of 6 sea otters playing. When the evening started to cool we moved our binoculars to the hot tub to continue enjoying the views and serenity. My family agreed the beds were comfy and we all slept well. If you are looking for a go go go vacay Pender Island is not your place. If you want easy hikes in gorgeous surroundings, peace that reaches your very core, and super friendly people I definitely recommend Pender Island! The didc golf course has discs for public use and was really fun! Driftwood shopping center has all you will need. We recommend Sea Star Winery and a stop at Bee Wild distillery for tastings. We HIGHLY recommend Carol’s place!

This place is incredible! My best friend and I needed a quick escape from the city and this place was a dream. Amazing location, beautiful views close to town with incredible restaurants. John & Sarah were incredibly kind and welcoming. If you get the chance to stay here, I highly recommend doing so.

This place was absolutely perfect for my family, which included two young kids. We had a lovely stay. The house had all the amenities you could need plus entertainment for the kids. Kitchen well stocked. So many towels, which was seriously amazing. Hot tub was so fun! There was just a little debris in it but it really wasn’t bad. Also a handful of spider webs in corners and the closets but again, not bad. Generally quite clean. Would absolutely stay again.

Wow, what an incredible property!! We had a wonderful stay and very much enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, expansive deck, beautiful grounds, and private beach. It was such a peaceful place to spend a few days, and we hope to return. We were three families with three small children, and it was a perfect place for them to run around. Thank you Don and Kathy for opening your home up to us.

Although we only stayed for a brief period we really enjoyed our time at Suzanne’s place. It was spotless and had everything you need and more. Suzanne was awesome as she accepted our reservation request right away and it was a last minute booking. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Priceless views and amazing architecture are showpieces of this magnificent home that combines coziness, elegance, comfort and rustic charm. We’ve stayed at many airbnbs, but this one is a new favorite. It’s an ideal getaway for the whole family; plus it’s close to interesting hikes and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked for eating at home. We didn’t enjoy the taste of the well water, but bought drinking water at Tru Value. Carley was very responsive and helpful throughout. We would love to come back in the summer.

Faith and David were very hospitable hosts. Their farm is very pleasant and peaceful. The quiet of the surroundings, the diverse bird species and the fresh eggs and vegetables really made the stay very memorable. I enjoyed speaking with these wonderful hosts and I will be rebooking in the future!

Beautiful roomy space with comfortable beds and furniture. Everything you could possibly need. In a fantastic area close to everything we wanted to do. Stunning backyard! It was a lovely place to sit in the sun while our dogs enjoyed running on the lawn. I look forward to coming back next time I’m in the area.Wonderful place to stay.

Fantastic stay and delivered the solitude in nature that I was looking for. It was a great way to experience the San Juans. The view was stunning, the access to the beach was stellar, and one of the best ways to spend a few days relaxing. The loaner vehicle was perfect to get us from dock to house. Reminder, for anyone looking to book this airBNB, please be mindful of what you pack and bring as there is no store to quickly run to if you forgot something. Also, you need to pack out your recyclables & non-compostables. Overall, would stay again and have already recommended it to others as an Eco-friendly vacation destination.

As others have said, the location in the heart of Eastsound cannot be beat and the view is spectacular. I could have sat on the balcony all weekend and watched the water. The loft was extremely clean and cozy, perfect for two.

We were able to find the location quickly and the check in was very convenient. The space was cozy and clean. It was close to downtown Bellingham (about 10 minute drive) and close to Galbraith where we went mountain biking. Our bikes felt safe stowed on the property. We recommend this stay.

We had a great stay and hope to be able to stay there again in the future!

Sheila's place felt like a treehouse retreat The bed was super comfy! We loved waking up "in the treetops" and listening to the birds. We barely spent time here except to sleep as were were with other family members on vacation and spent the days out and about with them. Sheila recommended places to explore and eat around town....super cute airbnb and beautiful town!

We liked the location of the trailer in the resort, easy to walk to the pool and other areas. Great resort close to the lake

This was a wonderful place to visit. The beach was beautiful. The pools and hottubs onsite were great. The only issue was that the balcony was really dirty. The bbq was very gross and had not been cleaned in a very long time. The floor on the deck was covered in bbq grease and ashes from the bbq. The furniture was dirty and the whole building needed a power wash.

The place is very clean and organized. Greg was very helpful with check-in and reached out to see if there was anything we needed before and upon arrival. Great host. Very nice unit with an incredible deck and view. Overall great experience.

Quiet, relaxing stay at Snowater. Kitchen was incredibly well equipped for the size. Not WiFi or cable tv but plenty of DVDs to watch. Really enjoyed the in-unit sauna and clubhouse amenities (pool, hot tub, games). Snowater is a little bit of a blast from the past, puts you right back into the 70s but we loved a bit of nostalgia. And if you’re skiing at Baker, the location can’t be beat. Would stay again.

What a great spot! Nestled in the woods in a peaceful and quiet setting this place is truly one-of-a-kind. The house is very unique with lots of character that sets it apart from the usual stays. It was clean and had all we needed. Our host Gramma Rikki was exceptionally warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, and we could not take advantage of all the outdoor spaces and amenities. We played pool, sat by the cozy fire and did some island exploring by car. All in all it was a very enjoyable and relaxing getaway despite the crummy weather. We hope to return one day and experience everything this wonderful place has to offer.

We had a great time at Anna's house and immediately felt right at home. It had everything we needed. It felt perfectly secluded and private in spite of the neighborhood being relatively dense. The view of the lake was beautiful. We appreciated the house's proximity to Bellingham and the area's sprawling mountain bike trails. Grateful for our time there!

We were very grateful for Yuri’s detailed notes regarding finding the condo, getting in, being extra careful about all the tree sap, etc. We especially loved his descriptions of the local restaurants, sights and activities!!! We followed his recommendations and had excellent meals and adventures. The place is filled with his wife’s incredible art. We both feel renewed from our week on Orcas Island!
