Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Bláskógabyggð

Great location. A lovely cottage. The outdoor shower is cool (with water that’s hot!)

We enjoyed our stay and would return! The cabin is in a secluded neighborhood with open fields, but there is one neighboring cabin right next door. There is a relatively tall privacy fence all the way around, but if there had been guests staying next door at the same time as us, we likely would have heard some voices if they were outside too. Luckily, the neighboring cabin was unoccupied during our stay. We made great use of the hot tub and loved listening to the birds and looking at the gorgeous open fields and distant mountains. The home was clean and everything was in working order.

WOW! That is the best description of Geirthruder's place. Maybe even more perfect than the photos. A perfect location to easily check out the Golden Circle The layout of her house is great with the living area dividing the two bedroom areas. Easy entrance, over-the-top kitchen, cozy woodburning fireplace, presitine in every way.... and THE VIEW!!! And the quiet!!! We cooked a good bit, just for fun. There is an amazing food market just a few minutes away (which was a highlight of our stay), Little Farmers Market. Staying at Geirthrudur's is a must!!!

What a great find! The place was perfect and the rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable. The kids loved the hot tub and I loved the books! I read a Steinbeck book which I greatly appreciated. The kitchen was beautiful as was the sunroom. I imagine the sunroom would be the perfect room to see the Northern Lights. The neighborhood was peaceful and we even got to spend a little time with one of the neighbors who was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very spacious, clean & nicely designed. If you are looking for horseback riding our kids LOVED “Riding Tours South Iceland.” Our stay was absolutely wonderful. I would love to return there someday.

We had a great time exploring local attractions and watching Northern Lights from the house. Sigrun was very helpful and a great host. The pool table, darts, and ping pong kept us entertained when it was too chilly to venture outside.

Wonderfully proactive communication made for an easy self-check in. House was spacious and charming. All the listed amenities were available, though we didn’t stay long enough to use all of them. Try the local restaurants — especially the bistro— they’re amazing!

Lovely place in amazing surroundings. Really special place to relax, and incredible views. One of the favourite airbnb stays. They have made this house a lovely space off the main track. If you come in the winter do bring a 4x4 as it’s at the top of an incline.

excellent location on the golden circle. we stayed there one night and really appreciated the clean space with lots of attention to small details. would definitely come back

Jon’s place was beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing! – It was very private and we very much enjoyed our stay in this cosy little cabin. Very well located in the middle of the Golden Circle with a fantastic view of the nearby mountain. It was the perfect location to explore Iceland's beautiful nature - All major attractions of the Golden Circle are reachable within 1 hour drive and with a slightly longer drive you can easily see much of the south. It felt like home from home after a long day of exploring and we loved watching the sun go down over the mountain from the deck. We were also very lucky to have a fabulous display of the northern lights at the end of April! Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us for our first trip to Iceland!

It was just great to stay there. Great host, great location. My family really enjoyed the stay 👍😀.

this rental was so perfect it was hard to leave to go out and explore because we just wanted to be here! it was close to a lot of attractions, and not far from the airport. next time i would stay for longer because it was such a peaceful and beautiful place to just relax.

What a beautiful cabin! Spacious and well appointed in a gorgeous woodland setting. Jón was always responsive and even arranged help for us when we got stuck - our fault, the driveway is on a slope and a 2wd car cannot cope when it’s snowy and icy. We found out the hard way and got stuck! Jón was so helpful though and despite our somewhat adventurous arrival we had a wonderful stay. Glorious auroras viewed from the fabulous hot tub were the icing on the cake! Highly recommended.

This was one of our most memorable AirBnb stays. Hjalmar’s cabin is beautiful, tranquil, and within walking distance of the lake. This cabin was great for our family of four young children, who loved the two trampolines and walking down to the lake. I’m not sure we have ever seen a host as responsive as Hjalmar - we had two questions about climate control in the cabin and the entrance gate, and he responded within a minute both times. This is a must visit if you are looking for a centrally located cabin along the golden circle and have children. We hope to return someday.

This was a beautiful home, just like the pictures. Elin made it nice and toasty for us to stay in. She was a great host with quick communication. Love that! The house was clean and really quality made. The only con was that the wifi was pretty spotty.

Sígrun’s place was exactly what we were looking for! We had the best welcome ever being greeted by the northern lights. The house is well equipped with everything you need. From kitchen appliances to toiletries. And the hot tub outside, is an excellent place to relax. Location is perfect. Very nice and quiet and also close to all the main attractions of the golden circle. Our farewell was also memorable with northern lights dancing for us! Some places we’d like to recommend: Sky Lagoon, Thingvellir National park (20 min drive from the house, bring good shoes, can be very slippery). Tryggvaskali restaurant, Messinn restaurant, Silfra restaurant. And of course all the other attractions around the golden circle. Thank you, Sigrún, hope to be back soon!

This place is really to recommend. We rented the cabin with all facilities, for three days and had this as a starting point for fantastic trips at the Golden Circle. Many of the sights are a short drive away. There is a private geothermal hot tub outside the cabin door, which heats in about 40 minutes! Surprising! Very positive when bringing children on vacation. Positive is the restaurant located next to the cabins. Easy if you've been on a trip and want a meal. We would gladly came back!
