Family-friendly holiday rentals in Bo-Kaap, Schotsche Kloof

We loved staying here. The weather was a hot mess over our stay and the plunge pool was a dream (it's shaded all day) and there is great AC in the bedroom. The photos don't do the balcony justice – a neat little place to eat dinner each night. The apartment is a laughably short walk from supermarkets, Vida and Prashad's (vegetarian Indian food 10/10), super safe, well-supplied kitchen. Alleyne was very welcoming and kind enough to provide us with milk, bread and fruit on arrival – a nice touch when you're staying for a few days. In a few words: homey and a bit like staying with family (in a good way).

What a wonderful time we had in Alex’s beautiful Higgovale House with its special atmosphere. A home from home we felt immediately at ease. The tropical gardens give the feeling of being in the midst of the jungle - despite being only minutes from the lively Kloof Street with its many restaurants and coffee shops (wine bar/coffee shop/deli Tamboerswinkel deserves a special mention). We felt very safe at night and enjoyed being able to access Cape Town‘s sights quickly. A highlight was our hike to Lions Head - again only a stone throw away from the house. Alex’s great communication throughout our stay was not surprising, given his friendly welcome and advice and whilst we didn’t stay long enough to get to know her, housekeeper Barbara also seemed very friendly and attentive. We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay and Dale was a great host. The location is incredible and very walkable to beaches, restaurants and shops.

Beautiful home and a great space for a family or small group. Located just down the road from botanical gardens in a gorgeous neighborhood. Kitchen had everything we needed. Our group included a couple of small kids so we appreciated that there were plenty of at-home activities when we were not out and about in Cape Town (pool, hot tub, playground, smart TV, books). Wish we could’ve stayed longer — hope to come again!

The location for the Tree House is simply fab!!! Views of the mountain from the house and quite centrally located to move around near hout bay, and even V&A was not too far! We’d go back in a heartbeat!

We were fortunate to have booked Glen Villa, as it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. Mary-Louise greeted us with a warm smile, took us on a tour of the villa, and provided us with detailed information about everything it had to offer. The view was breathtaking and simply amazing, as advertised. The villa was spacious and ample, and it was cleaned every day. We were also offered a convenient laundry service on-demand. We want to express our deepest gratitude to Mary-Louise for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be returning to Glen Villa in the future.

We had an amazing time at Jochen's House in Cape Town! This was our second visit, and once again, everything was perfect. We especially enjoyed the stunning rooftop view and the relaxing jacuzzi. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful stay!

Whether you’re exploring the city or just relaxing, Yvette’s place is the perfect base. We felt completely at home and truly cared for. Admittedly - the photos in the listing look too nice to be true, but if you are in the apartment, then everything is even better !!! This incredibly breathtaking view of Table Mountain and the bay - you don't really want to leave the apartment again. But that would also be a shame, because the close to the beach invites you to extensive walks and various restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The apartment itself is functional, smart and nicely furnished. Everything is very clean. The quality of the mattresses ensures a good night's sleep after intensive vacation days. The rental car can be safely parked on the premises. In short, I was there for four days and would have loved to spend a few days, but unfortunately the holiday was over. What a great end to the vacation! Thank you Liz !!!

We had a wonderful stay at Philip's place. The house is very spacious and the location is great. It was easy to communicate with Philip and he was very flexible. We stayed for a bit over a week at the beginning of our South Africa trip, and booked again for our last night as we liked the place so much.

Daleen's cottage is an absolute gem! Loved it!

I stayed in Dorette's flat for 5 months, and it really did feel like home. The neighbors in the apartment building were very friendly, the flat managed to remain cool during very hot days, the courtyard was very peaceful and private, and Dorette herself was very friendly and very responsive to my questions. I have fallen in love with the Vredehoek area, it is very peaceful (when it isn't windy!) and it was an enjoyable walk to the local grocery store and coffee shop.

We have just had a month's stay here and could not have been happier with everything - host, accommodation and location. The accommodation was spacious and extremely comfortable and we really felt at home. Spencer is an amazing host - he is on things straight away and is super friendly. The location was excellent - close to Constantia Village with shops and supermarkets and a short walk/drive to the wine farm Uitsig with its many restaurants which have lovely views and a really pretty rose garden. There is also a river walk a short way down the road from Spencer's house ( right turn past the horses) that is very pretty. We loved our long stay here and can highly recommend it to locals and visitors to Cape Town. Ticks all the boxes

This beautiful home, this slice of paradise, in the middle of a woodland-based suburban area where safety is something that is next to godliness. Staying at Taryn's little cozy house was an incredible experience for my wife and I. The fireplace, the crockery, the appliances, the massive bathtub, the feeling of home, the color-coordinated book nook, I could go on forever. This will definitely be an area that we will visit again, and this accommodation is by far the best that we've stayed in throughout the world for its elegance, for its class, for its personal touch, and for its modern simplicity. We cannot stress to you enough that our experience at this beautiful gem located in Cape Town in the gardens was something that we will never forget. Cozy blankets, warm fires, delicious food, and great company. The things that make a home.

We loved staying at Adri and Deon's place and left feeling refreshed and rested. The cottage is private, clean, well-equipped and you can access beautiful mountain trails from your front door. Thanks to the location and silence we slept better than we did in years. Lovely as all the amenities and the location is, the best thing about the place are the hosts. Deon and Adri are incredibly gracious, providing freshly ground coffee, muesli, home-baked bread and altogether good vibes. It felt like visiting really cool family who leave you alone to rest and enjoy the peace and quiet. We will most definitely be back.

Colettes place was exactly what we needed to get away from the city's hustle and bustle. It was so peaceful. There were so many toys my daughter could play with and very child friendly which I appreciate. The place was clean and very neat. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.

I had the most delightful stay! The family were all lovely, including Blue🐶. Mark gave me an excellent tour of the place. He, Cathy and Jarad have me such a warm welcome . The place was peaceful and felt just like home. I was very comfortable and slept well!! I’d been travelling for a while and this was the perfect spot to spent a week recouping and working remotely. The condo was just like the pictures. Spacious and well stocked. The location was good, easy walk to the waterfront and felt very safe. Glad we stayed here.

One of the most stunning airbnb’s I have stayed in!!! The photos are gorgeous, but in person is even better. The sunsets here are unmatched, the outdoor space is larger than what we imagined, and the inside is cozy with lots of amenities! The tap water is safe to drink and the security to the place was great. The driveway is quite steep but we got our rental car up it no problem! Anthony was fantastic and always answered so fast! He was very kind, friendly, and helpful. Thank you so much!
