The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

This was one of the most memorable places I have ever lived at! The property is huge, well maintained and just a perfect getaway spot with the right amount of amenities. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10 to anyone visiting Acadia National Park.

We had a wonderful stay at John’s place, house was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed for a month stay. Private and beautiful surroundings, responsive and friendly host, and a great location to explore Maine and the upper east coast. Memories to last a lifetime! Would recommend anyone wanting to enjoy to coast of Maine to stay here and have a great time, so much to see and do. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

We had the most amazing week at Adam and Lauren’s place! I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful it was. The house was and cozy inviting- we felt right at home. And it had absolutely everything we could have possibly needed. All of the furniture was incredibly comfortable, and we slept amazingly in the king sized bed. But what made this place shine was the outdoor space. First, it is nice and private, separated from all the neighbors by trees/patches of woods. But beyond the privacy, the hosts have put so much attention into making it outstanding with all the amenities you could want on vacation- an amazing hot tub, a lovely little lounge space, a tent to get out of the sun or rain, a grilling area, AND a pool?! PLUS a separate, fully fenced space for dogs?? AND THEN it’s only 20 min to Bar Harbor?! It’s got it all. Truly. If you are considering booking this place, do not hesitate for one second. It is the PERFECT Acadia getaway. And Adam and Lauren are great, attentive hosts!

This was our second time staying here and we loved it! It is super clean and organized and everything is easy to find. We have a toddler so being in a clutter free space is so helpful! The host is so kind to provide plenty of toys and games for the whole family to use! The accommodations for kids is amazing, the full sized crib was a life saver for our son getting good sleep away from home. And having a high chair and kid friendly books, toys, and kitchenware made packing so much easier!

This was a great place to stay. Everything was clean and orderly from outside to in. Worked out perfect for my family to enjoy the weekend. Plenty to do and explore. Our host was courteous and showed care for our time there which was very appreciative. Thank you for a great time to our wonderful host. I hope more come to enjoy your cozy retreat!

Martha went above and beyond to make us comfortable. There were plenty of extra towels and linens, toiletries for us to use, there were two box fans in one of the closets, and even umbrellas! The house was clean, the area was quiet - our weekend stay was great. Thank you, Martha!

We can't say enough great things about this place! Camp Nacho exceeded our expectations exponentially. The views are beautiful. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and peaceful. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Amon was easy to communicate with and so friendly. We enjoyed the kayaks and the fire pit! We stayed with our 6 kiddos and they had a blast. So many amazing memories were made during out stay!

Christina’s home is so clean, beautiful, and in a quiet beautiful neighborhood. The whole property was 10/10 for my whole family. Christina’s communication was amazing as she was answering our questions right away. The rooms are amazing, we were able to rest quietly. The place is great for kids, as they have their own place for themselves too. The whole experience was definitely for our family 10/10.

This is a really beautiful space in an even more beautiful stretch of woods and coast that gave us truly the best of Maine! Hosts were very quick and helpful with various requests and questions (even when we got locked out), and the space was a lovely honeymoon spot for my husband and I.

Our stay was perfect. The house was easy to find, very easy getting in . For the home being close to the street , it was very quiet. I love that the bathrooms had toiletries , plenty of towels, there was laundry detergent . I was very impressed and the message left on the white board welcoming us was a nice touch. This was the best I’ve stayed in so far and would definitely recommend .

The beautiful rental in Mount Desert Island was a perfect home base for our family trip to Acadia National Park, bringing us together from San Francisco, Kansas City, and Indiana. We found the thoughtful touches like ground coffee as well as firewood for use both in the fireplace and outdoor fire ring particularly welcoming. We enjoyed soaking in the nature, especially the deer, birds, and fireflies on the gorgeous property that includes a dock and beachfront. The kitchen was pretty well stocked for a rental, including a lobster pot and crackers, and plenty of tablesettings and glasses. There is ample countertop for food prep including a center island. We recommend bringing ice as there’s only one ice tray. The bedrooms were comfortable, each with close bathrooms. The house also has a lovely deck outside the master bedroom. Lots of seating inside for socializing. Plenty of wide windows for soaking in the views.

Mark was a great host! He offered to let us check in early, as our flight came in before check in time. The house was quiet and peaceful, perfect vacation house! Our kids loved the easy access to the lake, and the house provided numerous outdoor knick knacks for them to play with. We also enjoyed the relaxing mornings on the hammock. The house is close enough to all necessity’s, but still away enough to not feel crowded with people. We would recommend the place to anyone, and will be returning in the future! Majestic Point was the perfect accommodations for our stay. We were visiting Maine from PA for a graduation. Pushaw Lake was absolutely beautiful. The house was right on the water. My daughter and her friend were able to use the kayaks, cool off in the lake, and hang out on the dock. They also made use of the air hockey & foosball table. The lake house was very peaceful and private, so relaxing. We look forward to staying at Majestic Point again in the future.

Our stay here was so much fun! Swimming, fishing, kayaking, there was so much to do and the water was awesome! It was the perfect place to stay to have your peaceful vacation being in a great neighborhood but it was still located close enough to places where you could go if you’re looking to get great food, or go into a nice town with other things to do. Ryan was such a great host he had so many great recommendations on what to do, and where to go nearby for everything! He really cared about your stay here and it showed, he went out of his way to make sure you felt comfortable and had fun during your vacation! He was so responsive and was there if you needed anything. We would recommend this place to stay to anybody, and would love to come back. It’s the perfect place to bring your kids and your dog and they provide so much to make sure you have fun while staying here!

This is one of the best AirBnB’s I’ve ever stayed in. The cottage was perfectly cozy and thoughtfully appointed. Christy was proactive in reaching out and also very responsive and helpful. If you are comparing this location to something else in Bangor or the surrounding area stop your search and book this place. You will not regret it. 10/10.

What a beautiful hidden gem this lake house is! Nestled into the Maine forest on the edge of the peaceful lake, it was a perfect spot for a relaxed reunion for two families. As we have small children, I appreciated that the water isn't too close to the house but still accessible via stairs. Travis and Laura were excellent hosts and had the house stocked with everything we could need for a wonderful stay!

Very last minute booking and Taylor was accomadating. Had a small hiccup upon arrival and unable to get in. House is very comfortable and as described. There is a Keurig, along with other kitchen items. Friendly neighborhood, school and park in walking distance. Close to restaurants, grocery and many ammenities. Easy to find & dog friendly. I am a light sleeper, traffic and neighborhood noise is noticable very early mornings. Ceiling in shower is slanted, if you're tall it could be an issue.

This home is wonderful. It is spacious, extremely clean, and well-stocked. Our family was able to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and lake. We had a few general questions and Kevin was helpful and very quick to respond. The drive to Acadia was about an hour. I would recommend this property to others visiting Acadia and Bar Harbor, if you don’t mind a short drive. Kevin recommends arriving in daylight, which is a very good idea since it is located off of a gravel road.
