Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Canton of Bern

I'm happy to have discovered this quiet oasis in the Vallamand vineyards. Naomi and Romain were there when I needed them but left enough privacy even though they live in the same house. The interaction was very pleasant. The studio is a perfect place for singles with a need for peace and quiet as well as for couples to experience a change of scenery while enjoying the most beautiful view of Lake Murten and the vineyard landscape. The patio is like in another world, the decor is simple but very atmospheric. A Denner is easily accessible nearby via a walk. I would love to come back another time because I feel like I'm born again after the stay. Thank you Naomi and Romain for the wonderful stay!

We loved the place ! We used it as our base to explore Switzerland with a eurail train pass, did day trips to Zurich, Basel, Geneva, Lauterbrunnen, Thun, Interlaken and Bern. Walkable distance from the train station, also a beautiful walk in a pretty village circled by mountains. The place was squeaky clean and had everything we needed. Very friendly host, was responsive and gave clear instructions. We even had a binder explaining how to use the ameneties and with local recommandations. Would go back if I was to travel to Switzerland again !

What a wonderful and peaceful experience it was to stay at Emanuel’s greenhouse. I only wish we had booked a longer stay. His offer (and accepted) to pick organic strawberries from inside the greenhouse was much appreciated.

Me and my friends loved our stay at Judith's and Simon's place. It is such a lovely old style chalet, very well equipped, and so cozy, that we felt right at home. The hosts are also such nice people and welcoming. Staying here definitely made our roadtrip to Switzerland more special. We definitely recommend it.

Both Regula and her husband, Satcha, were extremely helpful and welcoming. They walked us through the entire property, explaining how everything worked....they even had the pool cleaned spotlessly...they had an outdoor pizza oven and a small garden with herbs for your cooking, and lettuce growing which we were welcome to use. The house had everything that we could have possibly needed, and they checked on us a couple of times to make sure that we had everything that we need. I would highly recommend this home for your traveling and vacation needs!

For 6 of us, it is a great place to stay. You will not have an issue at all if you have your own transportation to go around, which is what we did during the 3 nights there. We cooked dinner for all three nights for 6 of us at the house and enjoyed the view. We have already missed this house now as we are in Interlaken for another 4 nights with a different style of Airbnb. After sharing our photos and experience of the house with my sisters, they are interested in booking the same house for their future trip to Europe.

We absolutely loved this place! The apartment was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The area was beautiful and quiet, just a few minutes walk to the lake. It was easy to drive to interlaken and surrounding areas with lots to do. We would definitely stay here again!

Such a lovely place to stay with a stunning view in the country side. Local shops in walking distance and great location to get into Bern. Mario and Karson were such friendly hosts with great communication when checking in and out. The place was very well kept inside and out. We hope to be back again in the future. 2nd time with this host. Absolutely wonderful attic apartment with a small balcony. Perfectly clean and stocked with necessities and even a few extras. Beautifully furnished and maintained. The amount of unbuilt land and spectacular gardens in the back are very unusual for any European city. Quiet countryside living with the benefit of being within walking distance of shops and restaurants and lovely trails to parks and river Aare. Frequent buses stop right in front of the house. The ride to the heart of the old city and the train station takes only minutes.

Just wanted to write a few words here. I cannot describe how lucky I feel to have met these people, and stayed at this gorgeous place. Made an amazing trip so much better. Will think about and hold this place, and these people with me for a very long time. Thank you, I hope to see you guys again. J

Location is just a stone's throw away from hikes and a 20-minute train ride into the city of Bern. A quick hop away from the Gurten, as well as the Gantrisch area. Two stops away from trains towards the Thunersee region. Apartment offered the comforts of home, a well equipped kitchenette to cook many meals at home. The spacious and comfortable bedroom and refreshing shower allowed us to rest and reset before each next outdoor adventure. We appreciated the views and the local scenic landscape (with many walking and bike paths nearby). Stay here when you're ready to experience more of Switzerland's charming landscape and culture beyond the high tourist areas of city centres!

The apartment was very nice and clean with proximity to Bern Europaplatz station... Will definitely book it again when I visit switzerland again...

This was a perfect place to base out of for some adventures in Bernese-Oberland. It was close to the train station, good restaurants nearby, and an absolutely beautiful view overlooking the Aare river. The place was clean and spacious, and check in and out was super easy. Ruedi and Helen were very responsive.

Nicole’s place overall was amazing. Great location to the bus system which takes you to the trains. The only thing to keep in mind, especially when considering luggage, is you do have to climb some stairs and there is a hill you have to walk up everyday to leave. But it really isn’t a big deal l, the hill isn’t too steep and the views are amazing the whole time. Overall Nicole was an amazing host, she left us plenty of things to use including food, paddle boards and made it extra special for our honeymoon. Nicole is an amazing host. Anytime we had a question she answered very quickly. Helped us on any routes or spots nearby we wanted to go. Overall I would recommend everyone.

We had a lovely stay! The apartment was clean and tidy upon arrival, which we really appreciated. Upon check-in, we received clear instructions on how to enter, which made everything easy. The apartment is exactly as described. The location is easy to find and there’s a shopping center within walking distance, which was super convenient. We felt comfortable right away and were able to fully relax. We’d be happy to come back again! 😄

The surroundings of Doris' apartment are simply WONDERFUL, a special place that will make you feel immense regret when you have to leave. Loved this condo. It was spotless, easy to find and the location was excellent. It was not in the middle of town with the crowds, yet easily walkable. Loved the peace and quiet and the views were amazing. A view of Staubbach falls right in front of the kitchen windows and at night the falls are lit up and look magical. The snow capped Mountain View’s of Breithorn mountain from the deck and literally from the sofa as you are watching tv, were awe inspiring. Comfy furniture and bed and a well equipped kitchen. Lisa was great with recommendations and super responsive.

The area is really beautiful. They were two seperate rooms with a kitchen. The hosts were really friendly and also provided us with extra Ventilators due to the terrific heat. Over all, Nice stay.

The host was warm, professional, and provided clear instructions for check-in, along with great local tips for hikes, restaurants, and sightseeing. We especially appreciated the welcome Swiss chocolate and a guidebook—it was such a thoughtful touch! The location was ideal—peaceful and scenic, yet just a short drive or train ride to nearby towns and attractions

We had a very cozy and peaceful stay at Ursula’s farmhouse. It is located on a beautiful hillside with amazing views. The washing machine was helpful and the cat was very affectionate! Would love to come back someday.

Andrea's Airbnb was a nice 3-night stay for me in the middle of a much longer trip. I needed a place to decompress, do laundry, and recover from international flights and jetlag. Andrea's condo in Spiez was a spacious and convenient choice. The condo is a short walk from the picturesque town and the train station, and the neighborhood was very quiet while I was there. I agree with the suggestion to take the bus up the hill from the train station to the stop near the condo if you are carrying luggage or groceries. I also agree with reviewers that mentioned the lack of a microwave, which was OK for a short stay but I would miss if I rented for a longer time. The grocery store is near the train station and walkable. I will caution that almost everything in town is closed on Sunday, so if you arrive on a Saturday then pick up enough groceries to tide you over to Monday. There's a small convenience store at the train station if you have to buy on Sunday. I would stay here again.
