Imagine, if you will, traveling to a foreign country during a pandemic, arriving at the black of night, hassled by shady immigration officers, and having no local money. Absolute nightmare, but then swoops in the angels of mercy-Lorraine and Roy! They arranged for their driver to collect us from the airport, AND paid for our visa and airport security fee. We did reimburse them. (Note: Bring only British pounds or Gambian dalasi! No cards or USD accepted.) When we arrived at their place, Lorraine brought us food so we wouldn’t starve in the night. Then the next morning, she and Roy both greeted us with big smiles and friendly advice. The place is a dream!!! There is a lovely petite kitchen with all one needs for simple meals, a tiled shower with plenty of hot water, and two clean bedrooms with comfortable beds. The outside space is an oasis. They have created a slice of paradise complete with a large clean swimming pool, lounge areas, an honor bar, and a thatched roof gazebo. Lorraine and Roy are a wealth of information, and they are quite the adventurers. Ask Roy to tell you about their adventures of crossing the desert—before the days of mobile phones, GPS, or roads. Put it this way—you’d be a fool to stay anywhere else!

Apartment amongst the best in the city. Lovely host and family, friendly locals and quiet area. lots of outdoor space to relax, secure parking available, uninterupted Wifi and all working utilities. Perfect for a low key holiday.

At Daniel's place, we felt right at home. The location is perfect for visiting Tanji Fish Market and the house is just as shown in the pictures. Daniel made our stay easy and enjoyable. Even though we didn't meet him personally, he cared from the moment she took care of everything from the moment of everything, both the check-in process and that we were okay at all times. Also, as our flight went out late at night and had no guests the next day, she let us stay at her home until the time of going to the airport.
