Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and breathe. Birds, deer, squirrels and the distant howling coyotes reminds you you’re in the woods and away from civilization. Cabin has a comfy queen sized bed, record player with records, power station, minimal cooking supplies, propane AND wood fire pit, and a Blackstone stove.

Once tucked back into the woods, this newly improved 1920s cabin now enjoys a front-row seat to the grandeur of the Hood Canal thanks to a tidal creek that has washed away the sandy soil that once supported the departed trees. The Hideout | A Modern Tiny Cabin Near Mt. Hood

The Woodlands Hideout is a small intentional semi-offgrid retreat space, featured on Dwell. It was designed and built by Further Society and created to allow guests to immerse in the beauty of the natural world, but still offer some cozy and more essential comforts. Although the footprint of the space is small, we designed the experience to be outward focussed, so it feels very expansive with the towering pine trees in view.

A deck 20 feet up offers elevated creek views, and private trails connect to thousands of acres of wilderness. A 9’ folding glass wall and full-glass shower open the cabin to nature. Smart projector, convertible couch, and a king-short loft bed make every inch of this small footprint comfortable. Small space, big adventure.
