Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Charente

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

Belle rénovation dans un bel environnement au calme. Tout en ordre, propre et accueillant pour une ou plusieures nuits. Idéal, je vous recommande cette "chouette" maison !

We had the most wonderful 12-night stay in The Farmhouse and enjoyed fabulous hospitality from Sam & Stuart. It is very well equipped with everything that you need for a very comfortable stay. There is a beautiful outdoor space for al fresco dining. There is an enormous barn which has been converted into a games area and is incredibly well equipped with table tennis, pool, darts, table football, a library, and every board game known to man! There is also an invaluable library of information on the local area. The massive heated outdoor pool is such a beautiful area to relax in. With the local church as a backdrop and the sounds of the birds singing in the surrounding trees in the beautiful garden was absolute bliss. The location is a great base to travel from and explore the towns and villages in the surrounding area. We even managed a couple of day trips to La Rochelle and Bordeaux. Thank you so much for such a wonderful and relaxing stay.

Beautiful home in a beautiful part of the country. Very peaceful location yet less than 5 minutes drive from Brantome centre. Host was very helpful and responsive and had a whole list of recommendations for local restaurants, places to go, etc etc. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Jane was the best, most helpful and most reliable host I have ever encountered. She helped me retrieve left behind luggage by spending hours on the phone with DHL and the car rental office where my luggage was left. Jane’s property is in a stunning location, surrounded by wheat and sunflower fields and as I am an artist it was perfect. The house was beautiful and spotlessly clean, decorated with excellent taste and thought to every detail. It is located about 25 minutes from Angoulême, a small city with excellent restaurants and shops. It is also in easy access to many small and pretty villages like Auberterre Sur Dronne. I highly recommend staying at Jane’s in Champagne-Vigny. I highly recommend this property

Nous avons été séduit par les photos et l'annonce de ce logement, mais la réalité est encore plus belle! Le cadre est magnifique, splendide, tout est réalisé avec gout et élégance! De gentilles attentions nous attendaient à notre arrivée. Tout est bien pensé : l'intérieur de la maison, le jardin, la magnifique grange aménagée, l'espace piscine sont un ravissement pour les yeux et le confort des voyageurs. Nous avons y avons passé 4 jours tellement reposants et agréables. Nous sommes repartis avec une multitudes de souvenirs et la certitude de revenir l'année prochaine. Susan et Paul, bravo pour le travail accompli, et merci infiniment pour votre accueil. Vous méritez une palme d'Or! :) A très bientot!

Wij hebben een geweldig verblijf gehad bij Donna en Chris. Ze zijn altijd aanspreekbaar en reageren snel en adequaat als er toch iets is. Het verblijf dat wij hadden was een heel mooie en ruime woning, met grote keuken, woonkamer, badkamer en 2 grote slaapkamers. Het zwembad is schoon en mooi. De accomodatie ligt in een mooie regio, grote steden en mooie bezienswaardigheden allemaal < 1 uur rijden. Op nog geen 10 minutren rijden zijn grote supermarkten, en er zijn prima restaurants in de omgeving en regio. We hebben ons helemaal thuis gevoeld hier en een heerlijke vakantie gehad. Als je de kans krijgt deze accomodatie te boeken dan zou ik het doen!

The appartment is fantastic. Stylish and comfortable with everything you need. Its within easy reach of shops, places to eat or just sit and have a coffee, the market, walks by the river and there are bus stops close by, but its quiet at night too. Lisa is great with good and speedy communication. We'd definitely like to come back. Merci beaucoup Lisa!!

Logement spacieux et magnifique. Très propre, avec tout ce dont on a besoin. Les hôtes sont prévenant et réactif. Si je reviens à Angoulême, je reprendrai chez eux.

Très bon séjour chez Paul. Apparemment confortable et conforme aux photos. Petit plus pour les livres et conseils sur les alentours à visiter à disposition dans l'appartement.

Appartement idéal pour le WE passé dans la région. Accès privé et une petite cour qui permet aussi de profiter de l'extérieur. Très bon rapport qualité prix, je recommande

We spent a very pleasant week here. The flat is well located for touring the area and has good amenities in walking distance. The size is good and everything we needed was there. The secure parking was very useful. Sylvain was a great host, very responsive.

logement lumineux avec une vue complètement dégagée au dessus de la ville. l'appartement est fonctionnel et très propre. Grégory est à l'écoute et très réactif. Je recommande aussi l'emplacement pour l'accès aux commerce et la facilité de déplacement dans la ville.
