Tom’s Cottage

SarahRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Tom's cottage was everything we could have hoped for and more. The cozy atmosphere, crackling fireplace, and delightful Christmas decorations made our stay feel magical. The picturesque view from the windows was stunning, and Linda’s personal touches were evident throughout the property. A perfect holiday retreat!

DrineyHouse , Private IndoorPool , Jetty Lake Scur

CiaraRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Excellent hosts therefore we had a wonderful stay at Driney House and hope to return. 😀 All the kids were so happy they could all bunk in together in the room with all the beds, like a proper sleepover, telling ghost stories with a torch. 👻 We stayed for three days and happily never left the grounds. It was so relaxing to take in the view while the kids had plenty of activities to keep them entertained, out in the fresh air getting plenty of exercise. They would have even slept on the trampoline!😀 The pool was a great hit, there is no deep end as such so it was great for the kids, and great to play volleyball. There were life vests available for use in a range of sizes for those that couldn’t swim. From the first contact the hosts were amazing, they were so helpful with a great generosity of spirit. A lovely family with a very special guest house. It’s like an activity centre with the most amazing views on the lake…..but the bonus is you have it all to yourself! 😀

7 of us stayed here after a wedding at Crover House nearby. We were met by Paddy who was really welcoming and helpful. He showed us around the house and gave us tips and advice for our stay. The house is lovely and retains some original features. Bedrooms upstairs and downstairs make this really accessible. The house was very clean and the hosts had provided milk, tea, bread etc. It was a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend this property and stay again.

I am bushwhacking around Ireland relying on public transport. John picked me up at the bus station in Edgeworthstown and brought me home. It is a .5 mile walk to town which was fine with me. The 2nd. Annual Granard Book and Literary Festival was ongoing 4-19/21 with many poets and authors in town. Picked up a few books and the bars were hopping with craic and trad! Met lots of cousins which was the primary focus of my visit. Grand time.

Peter was a fantastic host. Looked after us during our four weeks day. His dad brought logs for the fireplace regularly and without us even asking. Lovely little village with amazing pub next door and others just up the road. Shops within a couple of minutes walk. Great walks and scenery within a short drive. Highly recommended!

Geraldine and Paul were very welcoming and friendly. Accomodation excellent, more spacious than the photos suggested. Cosy, woodburner lit when we arrived. A selection of basic supplies including breakfast with Geraldine's home made bread. Paul was very helpful with advice about local fishing. Large comfortable bed , and excellent bathroom. Lovely countryside, lots to explore.
