Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Dale Hollow Lake

This was the perfect cottage to stay at for our overnight kayak trip to Burgess Falls. It was a short 25 minute drive and also 10 minutes to Cookeville and access to whatever we needed. Really was the perfect location for us. The cottage itself is on a farm, easy to find and was the cutest with so many sheep/donkey details! Right next to it were sheep and donkey which we gladly fed some apple and carrot snacks that were in the fridge. They were all so friendly and after a long drive, this was a fun activity to do before we settled in. It was calming to see the animals out the windows from the kitchen as they roamed around. The cottage is very nicely decorated, updated, clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We slept well in the comfy bed before our long day of kayaking the next day! Alice was very nice and responds quickly! Wish we stayed longer!

We had a great stay in Byrdstown, and our hostess was excellent. She was always responsive, and check-in and out were a breeze. The place was as described, clean, and perfect for our lake trip. Plenty of space for the boat and truck in the drive. It was also close to town for running out to grab food and other things needed for the trip. I loved sitting out on the porch, especially when we got a summer shower and were able to listen to the rain on the roof. This would be great if you are looking for a cozy place to stay while visiting Dale Hollow Lake and don’t need much space (3-4 people). This is also close to Sunset Marina, which was very nice and easily accessible. We would stay again if we returned to Dale Hollow for a lake trip.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin and surroundings are beautiful. We would certainly consider coming back. We want to thank Sandra for her hospitality and quick response to any questions.

We had an incredible time with a party of 4 from Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN. House was charming and cozy. We ate dinner and listened to the live music at the dock on Friday night. We woke up on Saturday, made breakfast/coffee and enjoyed seeing the family of rabbits graze by the beautiful landscaping. Very peaceful! Had everything we needed after being on the lake all day. We loved the shaded back porch and talked out there all night. We heard owls! So cool. Truly a hidden gem.

Kettle creek was so peaceful and beautiful! Highly recommend staying here if you need a quiet getaway. Amy's home was very welcoming and very cozy. Would stay here again in a heartbeat

Finns BnB was the most wonderful home to spend our first anniversary as husband and wife. The seclusion was truly serene. The home was filled with amenities that made our trip effortless. Every detail was so thought out that we were left with nothing to do but enjoy our stay. The local recommendations Sawbriar Brewery and Highland Manor Winery, were both stunning and worth every penny. We chose to extend our stay by a night which was quickly accepted by the host. We loved our stay so much we are already planning our return.

The place was amazing. close to downtown and free parking. The place was very clean and affordable. Lots to see and about half and hour from Cookeville TN, about 30 minutes from Dale Hallow Lake which was a lot of fun.

This was such a cute place to stay for our visit to Mammoth Cave. There was an amazing pizza place within walking distance (0.1 miles) as well as a coffee shop. It was only an 18 minute drive to the visitor center and this part of Cave City was so much cuter than just south with more hotels. We struggled with the shower the first night- there’s a position between scolding hot and normal where the water pressure drops and we incorrectly thought that was where the water stopped, but if you go just past that the pressure builds and you get a normal shower. Just something for others to pay attention to in order to avoid our mistakes. My one critique would be there’s no window covering in the shower window. It’s pretty blocked by trees but you could see into the neighbors yard so if someone was standing in just the right spot they could see you showering. I would just check outside before showing and it was fine.

Jon's place was great. It was a last min booking and Jon was willing to still work with us. We are moving to the area so we were here looking for jobs and rentals. It was in a great location for our needs. I would recommend Jon's place to any of our friends and family that comes to visit. Jon's place was very clean and welcoming.

The decor was modern, stylish, and calming — like something out of a boutique magazine, but still totally livable and cozy. Everything was spotless (seriously, not a dust bunny in sight), and all the little touches made it feel special without being overdone. The host was incredibly friendly and responsive, striking that perfect balance of being available but not intrusive. Check-in was seamless, and the vibe of the whole experience was relaxed and easygoing. If you're looking for a space that feels both elevated and homey, clean and cool, with just the right amount of personality — this is it. I’d absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat!

We LOVED Crystal & Resa’s space!! The pictures truly do not do it justice. We stayed here for our wedding and my bridal party got glammed up at the extra large table and everyone still had plenty of space to relax and get ready all around. They were so quick to reply with any questions once we arrived and the folks at their shop were also super kind and helpful when we had a couple last minute things delivered there! Highly recommend!

Love the layout of this apartment and the close proximity to the town square. Very tidy, also.

Brad’s place is lovely. Very modern and clean with comfortable furniture and some nice touches. Super quiet. One of the nicest Airbnb’s at which I’ve stayed. Close to the downtown area and the university. Brad was easy to get in touch with. Would absolutely recommend.

awesome stay with an awesome host! more than accommodating with walking distance to a bunch of local establishments. my wife and I enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time exploring the community!

The space is beautiful and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. I was in town for graduation and the college was less than 10 minutes away. Elizabeth and her husband Wade were the absolute greatest, they made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. Their place was spotless, super relaxing, and we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. They were also amazing with communication, so friendly and helpful the whole time. Also, we can't say enough about the breakfast that Elizabeth made every morning, it was absolutely delicious and was such a special touch. We had the best time and would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, especially if you're wanting to spend time on the water. We can't wait to book again.

Main Street B&B Was a great historic place to stay. Our room upstairs was so cool with tall ceiling and exposed original woodwoork of the over 200 year old home. She was friendly and talked about how she came about the bed and breakfast. Breakfast was very good, home cooked and we enjoyed the family style dining treatment. Hoping to stay again as we visit the area on occasion.

This condo was everything as expected and described! The unit was easy to find and within a good distance to town and Dunkin', because that's what matters right!? It was clean and everything was presentable. We enjoyed our stay and will keep this place in mind when we are in Cookeville again visiting family.
